That store has awful clothes (quality and sizing) - sorry they are being a pain!

I find the sizing to be spot on and the quality to be pretty good.

Same. Plus... Cheap when you get a good sale! I like how the clothes are different than every other store that sells the same carters outfits.

Unfortunately that's their policy. Kinda stinks though since their clothes aren't sold in other stores.

Not true. TJ Maxx carries Children's place stuff and I've gone to both stores on the same day and seen the same shirts that CP had out at TJ Maxx. Maybe that was the reason for the return policy change.

I disagree. I get a lot of my kids clothes there and they hold up really well throughout the whole season and into the next if they don't outgrow them. I've never had issues with sizing either. If you catch them on a sale, with a coupon, and your Place Card you can clean up in that store. I get a boatload of clothes for next to nothing.

I think Jumping Bean at Kohl's and Circo at Target are really the WORST clothes. They consistently run very small and I find they don't hold up at all.

OP..............CP has gotten much stricter about their return policies. It use to be a breeze but not anymore. I had to return something for a smaller size, same EXACT shirt, and it was past the 30 day return policy by a few days and they gave me such a hard time! Meanwhile, the shirt I needed was right there on the rack so it's not like it was out of season or they didn't carry it anymore. It was frustrating. Eventually they gave in but said they really couldn't do it again in the future. Chat Icon

I agree. Their tops fit my kids short & wide. Never really liked their style either.

Re: Rant: The Children's Place

I've definitely cut back on shopping there due to their ridiculous return policy. I went there recently with sandals to return. I went there on the 31st day (they have a 30 day return policy). They would not let me return the sandals nor exchange them for anything else.

I was very turned off.

ETA: I had my receipt. Just wanted to clarify.

I've seen CP clothes at Marshall's too. I hate their return policy and I have donated a lot of things because I couldn't return due to not having a gift receipt. I don't particularly like the clothes, but I like their leggings for my DD.

The person who gave it to you probably paid like two dollars. That's THE ONLY reason people don't give gift receipts. So annoying imo.

I have the worst luck there too! One trip through the dryer and the clothes are practically a full size smaller.

I forgot to give a gift receipt once because I legitimately forgot to ask for one. I was buying stuff for my kids + a birthday gift for two other little girls.

The second time was because I lost it. (I threw out the shopping bag it was in.

Those are the two times I can actually remember. So a $2 purchase its not the ONLY reason why someone would not include it.

I love their graphic tshirts. Some really cute and funny ones and you can get them for under $5! I also love their jeans for N, they have the adjustable waist so they fit his short legs and chubby Tummy perfectly.

Haha must just be me - I like their elastic waist jeans for DS but nothing else is really my style, plus the PJs are just cut so slim and my DS is not a chunker or anything but he cannot fit in them LOL

It's absurd and it's the reason I won't shop there. The same thing happened to me with gifts from my baby shower.

I don't understand how it can be because of theft. There's no way they lose that much money because of theft. They could easily implement the same policy as other stores... by just taking your license and giving you the lowest sale price if you don't have a receipt. Keeping track by using your license prevents abuse of that policy. These clothes cost practically nothing to the store. The markup is insane if you knew what they actually pay the manufacturers.

I actually worked at the Gap years ago and people had software where they could print receipts and they'd steal and return literally hundreds of dollars worth of clothes.

This. And I have people who refuse to give gift receipts. It's so annoying. I try to give anytime I give a gift but I forget to ask a lot. Target you have to ask for now. It doesn't just print anymore. Carters you have to tell them specifically which items. I just said all one time thinking it was just a barcode and the recipet printed so long b/c I bought a lot. It's really insane. These stores are getting harder and harder to return to.

And i don't mind their clothes or prices. I actually hate the store itself. There's so much shit in there I can't get through with the stroller. I bump into each and every freaking display. They cram so much in such a little place. I try not to go in often

Rant: The Children's Place

I actually like Children's Place for certain items. I get a TON of leggings there for DD. They are definitely cut slim but that is what she needs and they fit her great. They have cute T-shirts too and the pjs are nice as well. I haven't had any quality issues and they usually last the season. I don't expect them to last more than that as she wouldn't fit into it anyway.

The return policy is a pain in the butt but I don't buy anything that I would need to return and she never gets clothes there as gifts.

Re: Rant: The Children's Place

I'm so sick of stores return policies. I feel your frustrations.

I had an awful experience with returns this week. My parents purchased a bouncy house for my dd for her bday from toys r us. It had a hole and I tried to return it in store with reciept in and and they wouldn't take it back because its seasonal. Sent me a 3 day wild goose chase calling the manufacture (who said it was on TOYS R US) emailing someone in china. Finally TRU took it back.

I'll never shop there again ever!

I disagree. I have 3 boys and ALL of my 1st sons clothes have been passed down. I don't really buy any new clothes for my middle child and youngest. They have held up REALLY well.

Lol, I'll amend. Most often you'll get no gift receipt when someone bought something really cheap and they don't want you to know.

Here's the thing I used to work in retail management over 14 years. I understand why they would have a policy like this but it's really not convenient for people who get gifts. All I can think is that they must really have had a ton of theft company wide to put this kind of policy in place. I am also surprised they haven't joined modern times and provide a receipt lookup policy

it is, but only with a receipt. They won't accept returns or give a store credit unless you have the receipt
