Spirits Airline
Tell me the good and bad with Spirits airlines. I need to purchase 2 return flights from SJO (Costa Rica) to NY and they are priced $80 cheaper than Jetblue. I also like that I would get here around 11pm as for Jetblue I'm looking at around 1am. Never traveled with Spirits airline. Should I save some money and book with them or pay more and travel with what I know which is jetlbue?

I would avoid, if possible. They nickel and dime you for everything (carry on bags, choosing seats, checked luggage).

Yes - the $80 difference that you see will be a lot less. I would never fly them internationally (and I hate flying them domestically).
My friend just tried to get back from Cancun to Myrtle Beach through Fort Lauderdale and somehow got to spend most of a day in Latrobe, PA.
ETA- And you probably wouldn't have gotten in at 11pm anyway - they are notoriously late.

Aside from nickel and diming you, they usually have terrible on time records and they have the smallest seats and least leg room of any airline I've flown on (I don't usually have any issues flying or claustrophobia, but the one time I flew Spirit I thought I was going to lose my mind I felt so uncomfortable and just like I NEEDED to get off the plane. Never had that feeling before or after that flight). Definitely not worth the savings

I had a horrible experience with them and vowed to NEVER fly with them again!!! It felt like a budget airplane =(
