Driving to Orlando, FL
After arguing with DH about this, it seems I have lost the battle and we will be making the dreadful drive to Orlando next month. What is the best time to leave (Queens) and where should we stop to spend the night? Do you book hotel now or do you just book on the spot? I do want to spend a whole day at a hotel with a pool to kind of unwind a bit from the long drive. I have 3 kids so I don't mind stopping for 1-2 nights. We're not on a rush to get there since we're going for 2 weeks to just attend a birthday party there.

Re: Driving to Orlando, FL
We always leave mid Suffolk at 2am...we drive to Savannah, GA and stop...depending on traffic/how many stops we make, we get there around dinner time. We prefer to have a really long day first, and then a second, shorter day. We have stayed at the Springhill Suites 95S the past 2 trips...it has an indoor pool that we liked.

Re: Driving to Orlando, FL
I agree with pp. We get up at 3am and drive to the Orlando area by midnight, but if we didn't I would get as close as possible. I find the second day is worse than the first and prefer to have less driving. When we drive further south...which we do often, we always leave less driving for the second day.
