Landscaping costs for large property?

I'm thinking like 1 or 2 acres. How big is your property and how much does landscaping cost? If we buy further East we can get a much bigger property, but DH mentioned he thinks the landscaping costs would be a lot.

We are on about 1/3 acre but part of our lot is wooded. So we have about 1/4 acre of grass. We pay $25 per mow, $50 for spring and fall clean up each, and $80 for mid summer pruning. So far it's been $200 plus tax for mowing. We did not go with a huge company. My neighbor uses a huge company and they are charged $3,400 for what we pay for the above. That does not include mulch, which we needed a lot of. The prior owner did not mulch for five years, so the beds were in great need of mulch. We had $700 of mulch costs for the front and back yard. My neighbor said she needed about $200 to fill in her mulch. I expect our mulch cost to decrease next summer. Our gardener does not spray, so we do that on our own. My neighbor pays $40 for each spray application and that happens five times per summer season. So all in all, for 1/4 acre we pay $1,180 plus some of our labor for spray. We have the stuff from our last home and the bag costs $30 and I think the spreader cost about 45. My neighbor, for 1/4 acre pays $3,800. So if you have an entire grass lot of one acre, I would expect to pay a lot more.

It all depends on where you left live... We have two acres and general maintenance is $150 a week.

My friend has two acres in Oyster Bay. She pays $400 per month for landscaping (I assume once a week).
