Boogie is being neutered....QUESTION
I am so nervous since about a month and a week ago his eye came out of his socket (which was the most terrible thing I have ever experienced) I am so nervous that he will have too much stress and it will happen again.
I miss my baby boy already...

Re: Boogie is being neutered....
HEY...thanks for asking... actually he is not doing too well... the vert did not give me a cone for him (which I asked for but they said was not necessary) and he is licking his wound like crazy ...it now looks different-more swollen than when he got home-he wont eat unless I hand feed him (which I dont mind doing of course) and he just looks so uncomfortable...which is normal...but I hate seeing him like this... I like when he sleeps because I know he is not feeling the pain as much. He gets his first pill in the morning and takes one for 5 days. I am going to call the vet in the morning and ask them for the cone and to take a look at him-it just doesnt look the same way he came home...OH and when he licks it at times there is white stuff on his lips-I assume some sort of dishcharge which cant be good...
ANYONE know if this all sounds normal!?>??

Re: Boogie is being neutered....QUESTION
Just keep a close eye on him. When I had my little guy done he was fine, I didnt even have a problem with him licking and there was no discharge. When I had my girl done, she was a mess. She was licking like crazy, wasn't eating and was very swollen. I was pretty sure it wasnt normal so i took her back despite people saying I was crazy. In the end I was right, she got an infection. If it seems to be very *****, bloody or unusually swollen, call your vet just to be sure. Mine had me come in right away. Also, I would call your vet anyways and tell them you want one of those cones since your dog is licking. Hope your baby feels better soon!!!
ooops, apparently I wrote a dirty word I was trying to say pus

Awwww... the first 24 hours can be a little rough and the wound does look red and swollen for a few days. But if you are concerned, definitely call your vet. Please keep us posted

Re: Boogie is being neutered....QUESTION
Everything sound like definite outcomes of having a surgery, however, if your dog is licking the wound you need to call the vet and get an e-collar (cone) for your dog, so that the stitches are not disturbed and the wound can heal quickly and properly.

Re: Boogie is being neutered....QUESTION
They called me early this morning to see how he is doing and told them, so he is going to vet at 3:00 to be checked out and to get the e-collar. He is such a mush...He should be okay but I would rather be safe than sorry!
