Endometrial Biopsy
I know this has been asked many times here. But I need to ask myself.
I need to calm myself down on the Endo Biopsy, which I am going to need next month.
Dr. Brenner @ LIIVF is doing it. While I like him; I feel like him and his nurse that comes in the room are a bit cold in a sense; like not sympathetic when comes to being scared for certain procedures. I get it--they do this pretty much every day; so its no big deal to them.
A friend of mine had it done twice a few years ago at her Gyno office; and they had given her a numbing needle. Why wouldn't these Fertility places give that considering the horror of pain it causes some people. I get its quick; but still. Its frustrating to know that these doctors can ease the pain for us; but yet choose not to do so.
Out of curiosity; what pain medication did you take prior to this procedure and how did you feel the pain was during?
Please share your story......thanks.

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
I just had one (first one ever) about 4mths ago. No numbing at all. Just took 2 advil about 30 mins before. Easy and no big deal at all. I had myself all worked up and it was NOTHING. Dr just used a pipette to suction out some tissue. Seriously have had worse blood draws. HTH
eta- not sure if it's related but I got my BFP about 6-7 weeks later and so far so good now...I have read it improves implantation and lining receptivity

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
Thats one thing I asked. No pipette or suction; I think that would so much less painful. I wonder why doctors use different techniques. Who was your Doctor who did yours??
The nurse mentioned a metal thing that he twists and turns until he gets enough tissue.
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!!!

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
Dr Brenner did mine too. I think I built it up to be much worse in my head. yes, it's painful but it's really over quickly. I have him & that office to thank for my DS. good luck!

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
I had mine last month with Dr. Palter. I took 3 Advil an hour prior and he used the pipette. I had cramping for a few seconds and it was over. I thought it would have been much worse but I had myself worked up for nothing. Probably the more relaxed you are and the less tension you hold in your body, the easier it will be too. Good Luck!

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
I had it done twice with Brenner, took three advils 1/2 hour before and it wasn't that bad. The anticipation was the worst.
