Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
So, 2 days before DH leaves for Detroit, we also have a wedding to attend. I will be 36 weeks. The wedding is an hour away from home and my hospital with no traffic, but on a Friday evening we're likely to hit some traffic. It's not a close friend or family - it's an old neighbor of DH's from childhood. DH's parents and sister & BIL will be attending. If it was local, I'd 100% be RSVPing yes (I do love weddings and it'd probably be a fun night!) but being an hour away from the hospital makes me a bit nervous. WWYD? Go, or stay home?

Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
I dunno......I'll be 38 weeks when my sister's wedding takes place and hers is 4 hrs away. I'm suppose to be MOH. DH doesn't think we should go even though it's my sister. DH is afraid I'll go into labor during the travel and we won't know where a hospital is.
In your situation I would prob skip because it's not a close friend or family member.

I would go unless you just don't feel up to it, but I wouldn't skip it for a "what if."

This. I went to a wedding at 36 weeks pregnant about an hour from the hospital.

Same here, I wouldn't skip it if you both would like to attend. Leave early if you start not feeling well and know exactly where the nearest hospital is.
This is what I did when my BIL got married. And we were 3 hours away.

I'd go if I felt ok. 36 weeks would still be early enough that I wouldn't worry too much about going into labor. If you start feeling funny during the wedding, you have a perfect excuse to leave.

Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
I had an engagement party in the city when I was 38 weeks. I was an hour away from home. I wasn't happy about it, especially when we hit traffic driving in. I felt obligated to go though bc it was dhs stepbrother and Gd help me in his family if I didn't go.

I don't love weddings and feeling the way I do now at only 26 weeks, I would probably reply no. The late night with a long drive after would be my biggest problem. The possibility of going into labor there wouldn't stop me. In traffic, I had at least an hour drive home while I was commuting and pregnant with DD1.

I would go. I went to a wedding 37 weeks pregnant an hour from home. and was fine.
The only wedding RSVPed no to was a wedding when I was pregnant with DD #1 and that's because it was in DR.

I'm in the same situation, wedding is at East Wind I'm delivering at NSUH. I plan to go. If I have to make a game time decision and skip the day of I guess I will. But 36w is still early especially if it's your first.

I would plan on going and RSVP yes. However if for some reason your pregnancy gets rough before that time, I would call them (or have DH call) and explain that you won't be able to make it.

I would go
With Dd, my sils bridal shower was planned an hour away 2 days before my due date (which infuriated me but oh well). Got ready and made food while having contractions that morning, and decided at 10 when I needed to leave that I probably shouldn't go. Dd was born at 530 lol

Re: Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
I would decline. My water broke at 37 weeks with my second DS, and I will not travel so far from home after 36 weeks now.
We will be invited to a wedding in NJ taking place the day I turn 37 weeks. We will be declining. Not worth the risk IMO.

I would plan to go. Enjoy the night before the baby comes and date nights are scarce. I'd also probably insist on a foot massage the next day!!!

If it was still on Long Island, I would go. If I had to cross bridges, probably not.

Re: Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
With my second pregnancy, I was traveling for work around the state up until I delivered. Many of the places where I had meetings were at least an hour away. The morning my water broke I was actually planning on going to one of the offices that was 50 minutes away. My second delivery progressed much faster, but it was still quite a few hours before things really started happening. Unless your first delivery was extremely quick, I would go.

Since it's not someone close to you, I'd skip it. Not because I think you'll go into labor, but because it's not worth the stress. I was SO done at 36 weeks.

Re: Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
I went to a wedding 1+ hour away at 37 weeks (we lived in the city and the wedding was on LI) but it was a good friend and I was a bridesmaid. I also had family nearby who drove me to/from the city so I didnt have to take the train. I did not leave the city again for the rest of my pregnancy but physically I felt fine and had a great time

Re: Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
I went to my cousin's wedding at 36 weeks, I was fine. I don't think an hour is bad, if it were a longer distance away like a few hours, then I probably wouldn't go.

I would absolutely go. At 36 weeks I traveled to Sesame Place for my son which was like 2.5 hours away.

Another WWYD - wedding at 36 weeks
I was an hour and a half away last weekend at 36 weeks, you should def go. Even if you started to not feel well at the wedding (Which most likely wont happen) you would have PLENTY of time to get back home.
