Day out with 4.5 month old
My husband and I have the day off this coming Friday and are trying to come up with something fun to do with our 4.5 month old son. I was thinking White Post Farms to see some animals. Any other ideas?

With a 4.5 month old I'd gear it more towards you guys. A baby will just be happy watching anything around you.

I love the Bayard cutting arboretum in great river. It's a really pretty place to walk around and then you can grab coffee and sit out in the lawn to enjoy the view. Great place to grab some cute pictures and stroll around but like the others said, anything you two would enjoy since they're still too little for kids stuff.

White Post is kind of pricey for a baby that young who won't get anything out of it.
You can see some animals for much less at the Holtsville Ecology Center

This!! Take advantage of the last few months to do things centered around you. Shopping, a day by the water. There's plenty of time for kid-centered stuff when they are old enough to enjoy it.

This!! Take advantage of the last few months to do things centered around you. Shopping, a day by the water. There's plenty of time for kid-centered stuff when they are old enough to enjoy it.

Agreed. I actually just went shopping at Roosevelt field with DD (4 mos.) and she loved being walked around in the carrier. She was mesmerized by all the lights and people.

At that age baby will have more fun looking at shadows than animals, don't waste your $ on White Post. At that age some babies don't even aknowldege looking at animals yet, especially if they are not super up close. You should do something that you want to do as these are the last few months you can get away with it. I would suggest going for a walk on the boardwalk or to a family friendly winery if it's not too hot.

I agree with this.
But like a PP said, skip white post farms and do the ecology center if you want to go see animals. It's $5 to park. We took DD1 when she was an infant. It's a nice walk, lots of animals.
