Mascara, eye liner, and raccoon eyes

Every time I wear mascara or eyeliner, no matter what brand I try, I end up with embarassing dark rings under my eyes within a few hours. It makes me look like I've been sobbing lol and travels down all the way to where the circle undemy eye meets the top of my cheeckbone. I have resigned myself to stop wearing them altogether (even though my skimpy lashes desperately need them! and my "made up" face never looks complete without them!). I tried clear mascara but it does nothing for my lashes except wet them. Looks awful and does nothing. Have tried soft brown eyeliner but it's not the same for an evening look.

Also have trouble removing what's left of the mascara and eyeliner that didn't travel to the circles under my eyes at the end of the night and always have residue on my lashline and lashes for a day or 2 afterward. I can't use coconut oil because it irritates my skin.

Help?

Sephora brand eyeliner on waterline (the pencil)
And cover girl lash blast waterproof mascara

These two products don't run or flake

I've had this problem before and I blamed my oily skin
But even with a matting serum on my face, I was getting raccoon eyes

Try these and see how it goes

For the eyeliner-- try Stila Smudgestick- it's very long lasting.

For mascara- i'm not sure but maybe try a primer first?
Tarte makes a great one
And now I think Loreal makes one- cheaper

One other thing to try is using some setting powder under your eyes and in the areas that tend to run.
Like apply it with a q tip

Google tubed mascara.. Life changer for me. My mascara always ended up on the bottom of eyes. I use the Loreal double extend.

For makeup removal I use a makeup removal wipe and then follow it with Micellar water on a cotton pad to get the residual eye makeup.

I recently discovered Estée Lauder Double Wear Infinite Waterproof eyeliner (link) and am really liking it. My eyes tend to be very watery in the morning when I am doing my makeup and this eyeliner goes on well and stays in place. I use CoverGirl LashBlast Volume mascara and haven't had any issues with it smudging or running.

Re: Mascara, eye liner, and raccoon eyes

Do you have hooded eyes?

I never realized why the same thing was happening to me and then a makeup artist explained it was because of my hooded eyes.

I use a mattifying cream on my lids and right below my eyes. I also switched to a waterproof mascara and it has helped so much.

It sucks getting the waterproof stuff off at night but some nights I use ponds cold cream and it works pretty well lol IDK why I'm embarrassed to admit that. Chat Icon
