bar mitzvah gift
I have my friends son's bar mitzvah coming up....do people normally give money, savings bond?? how much is standard? a good friend, but we dont really hang out too much anymore, just known her for 15 years!
I havent been to one since I was 13, so.......i have NO clue!

Giving money is standard in multiples of 18 (it's a lucky number-chai). How many people in your family are going? If just you and dh, $180 or more is usually the standard.
