Keeping an eye on it. It looks like the east coast of FL may have to worry in the immediate.
I follow Tri State weather and he thinks it may head out to sea. But keeping it on my radar (no pun intended) in the meantime.

It's too far away and moving slowly to worry about it just yet.

Yes - I have family all over Florida...scattered everywhere but the panhandle. I watch all hurricanes because of that.

Are you going on the Magic? Disney doesn't cancel for hurricanes, so they will definitely go around it. But, that stinks if the ports get hit!

I'm getting mildly concerned. I'm on the east coast, south FL. We will definitely get tropical storm 50-60 mph winds and heavy rains at the very least. If it moves only 100 miles West we are screwed.

DH and I are supposed to go to Bermuda for our anniversary next Friday. It's our first trip alone since DD was born over 2 years ago. I have an awful feeling that we are going to have to cancel either because the storm will have hit NY at that point and we can't leave, the storm is still affecting Bermuda or my in-laws who live in NC won't be able to get out Thursday and they are the ones that are coming to watch DD.
We are so upset. GO AWAY HURRICANE MATTHEW!!!!

So are we, we're about an hour north of West Palm Beach. I've been checking the NHC every few hours for updates, looks like it's turning westward. Hopefully the most we get is some wind and rain

Re: Hurricane Matthew
As of right now, it looks like it's hugging the FL coast, which could potentially have it hitting us here on LI directly. Still much too far away for any real prediction, but certainly something to keep an eye on.

With all of the current forecasts, it won't hit LI until the middle of next week, give or take. By this Sunday it looks like it will be around North Carolina or so.

It stinks that you likely won't stop at Castaway Cay if they get hit like they are saying. The damage will probably be severe! The Dream picked up all the resident Cast Members that live there today, so at least they are safe

The forecast changed drastically from the 8am prediction to the 11am prediction. It went from hitting LI around Tuesday, to now being forecast to hit on Sunday....

I've been following the NOAA site. Their 8am forecast is probably what you're seeing on the Weather Channel. They just updated their forecast a few minutes ago.

Oh wow, what a difference! I am guessing it's finally picking up speed? It was moving so slowly before
