Fun weekend fall trip ideas?
Open to anything in driving distance. Not feeling poconos. No kids coming so doesn't have to be family friendly.
Any reccs?

I went to the Roxbury Motel up in the Catskills for my birthday - it was super cool. The hotel itself is awesome and the area is peaceful. There are probably some good festivals going on in one of the nearby towns.

This place looks like so much fun! Did you stay in one of the theme rooms?

Also, Hudson Valley - wine region. Did a weekend up there last year and it was a lot of fun! Especially at this time of the year with all the trees changing color.

Yes! The Angel Hair room (Charlie's Angels theme)
I believe it was BargainMama who recommended the place :)

Love this place! We went last December & stayed in Fred's Lair! So warm & cozy. But the town itself is very quiet...I would research what's going on in the neighboring towns to make sure there's some stuff to do.

bear mountain octoberfest.
I read they aren't having it this year.
I know that Circle Line Cruises (or one of those boats) does an Oktoberfest cruise to Bear Mountain with festivities on the boat on the way up

They changed the location of the Octoberfest. It's in a parking area now...not on the lake or Bear Mountain rec area. We used to go every year as there was the zoo and carousel for kids and Octoberfest for adults. Something for everyone! Not sure what it is like now since they moved it.

Buttermilk Falls Inn
Was just going to suggest this! It is a great place for couples or a group of friends. You can get a room in the main inn or get a cottage or duplex to sleep a group.
There's a fabulous spa on site (with an indoor pool with great views, where you can have wine and relax), and a great farm-to-table restaurant with a nice bar. I went in the winter (Feb.) and the grounds were beautiful, but it would be even more scenic in the fall.
It's in the Hudson Valley region so there's a lot of things to do -- lots of wineries and distilleries in that area, and we had dinner one night at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, which was fabulous (they have 3 restaurants to choose from).
I went with DH for my 40th, and our room had a fireplace, jetted tub, etc. It was perfect! I know a couple who goes every year with college friends, and there were several girls' getaway groups when I was there, too, enjoying the spa and restaurant.
The only thing is it does book up pretty far in advance and most of the times you need to book a minimum of 2 nights for a weekend.

I go every year. They did move it to a separate location a few minutes away. It is still fun, tents set up and music. Long lines to get the tickets though which stinks. We get there early and get food/drink tickets early and a table. After a few hours we leave and then go to the zoo and walk around the lake.
