Life insurance
Can someone talk me through the process. I am looking for term , for at least 20 years. Anyone have a reccmendation for a great insurance agent ? Also, what do the companies check for before underwriting you ? Medical records ? Anything else.

Re: Life insurance
Not sure on who to use as my BIL owns and agency and we just went through him and he set the whole thing up and found us the best companies to go with.
They didn't check our medical records. DH hasn't been to a doctor in like 20 years! I barely have any medical records myself as I'm not a big doctor goer.
They just send someone to the house to do height, weight, blood pressure, blood work.
That was it

Re: Life insurance
we have ours through ING Direct / Reliastar. But I am in PA so the companies may vary state to state.
I went through a broker; they send a nurse to the house to do basic medical forms, stats, draw blood and then send the blood to a lab. There wasnt too much medical digging.
I have a super preferred rate; Dh has a preferred rate. But for the fact that his dad died at 42 yrs old of heart disease, DH would have had the super preferred. they will not revisit the rate until Dh surpasses the age of which his father passed.

Life insurance
It all depends on how much coverage you get and your age. For example, if you did something like 100k and you're young they would only require a physical. If you're getting something significantly higher like 500k then they will most likely require a physical + medical records.

Re: Life insurance
Trying calling Zander. They are Dave Ramsey approved. They are a broker, so they will shop the insurance around and get you the best deal. Once you pick a provider, they will send someone to your house to do a physical and blood work. Very easy

We have $1million in coverage and did not have to submit any medical records. But the policies were purchased when we were about 30.
ETA through AXA

Yes - they will do a blood draw. We are with NY Life and that's what they did. Weight, blood pressure, blood draw to check cholesterol. My rate was higher bc my cholesterol was a bit higher.

Re: Life insurance
I have Prudential. The nurse came, asked questions, took weight (ughh I was like 7 months pregnant at the time lol) and did blood draw. I was 29 y/o. No medical records or physical.

Sorry to hijack but were you at a disadvantage with premiums being pregnant? You would appear less healthy being heavier but obviously it's a valid reason

Re: Life insurance
We just got policies through William Penn.
$1million - $65/month for a 30year term.
They sent someone to the house to take blood and urine, and get our weight/height. He asked a few questions and was gone in 15 minutes. Very easy. In addition, we had to do a phone interview that took about 45 minutes. They asked medical questions.
