SUNY Cortland- my two sisters went there and loved it.
St. Francis in PA my third sister went to and had a great time.
Me- I knew I wanted to stay home- no regrets!
Graduated from CUNY Queens College- very happy/ got a job thru their placement office. Another thing ... Graduated debit free .

Manhattan College. It's in the northern Bronx, near Van Cortland Park and Yonkers. I lived there. Best of both worlds, to live away at college, but be less than an hour to come home when I needed to (which I hardly ever did, I loved it there!).
I went to Manhattan too! Class of 2003... U?
Had an amazing experience and being extremely close to the city had many advantages in terms of internships etc.
My husband went to Marist and he absolutely loved it there.
I'm an old fart. Graduated with a BS in 1994 and my MS in 1995.

Loyola Maryland. Just went to my 15 year reunion this past summer. The campus is georgeous and so were the people lol. Great weather too when I was there. I always joke that it was like Disneyworld ;)
My ex dh went to Tufts and I hate all his friends but it is a good school

If you went away to college...
University of Delaware. I hated it at first and was very homesick. I also had just started dating my now DH about 3 weeks before I left for my freshman year. It took a couple of years to really enjoy myself and now looking back, I don't have any regrets about going away.

Pace in westchester. Mostly everyone that boarded was from the area, so it was a ghost town most weekends. I ended up going home every weekend. I was coming from an all girls high school. It was a hard transition. I transferred home after my second semester.

I stayed at home but had I gone away I def would have went to school in Boston. I applied and got into Northeastern but decided to stay home. A HS friend of mine went to Boston University.

SUNY Plattsburgh and LOVED every second of it! I took advantage of everything the school had to offer - I worked in the store, I was an RA, I was a tour guide, I was in a sorority, I played a sport - it was an AMAZING experience and I have absolutely no regrets about going to school that far up north.

Same!! It is a beautiful campus and it was a good size. The biggest downfall was it was a hike from LI. But I absolutely loved my time there!

Gettysburg and loved loved loved it!! College is so expensive, but if going away is possible, I think it is important.
I went to Gettysburg also and loved every minute of it! Going away to school is such a great experience.
I did too - and ditto. IN addition, my friends who I made there are my closest to this day

If you went away to college...
University at Buffalo. Loved it and my sister followed in my footsteps 4 years later. I loved that it was actual campus and I think I got a phenomenal education there.

I went to U of Miami (FL) and then transferred to Binghamton .....
VERY different, but loved/hated things about both.
For what I wanted our of a college experience, and academically, Bing was a better fit for me

My step-son just started there - he's in his first semester. So far he loves it. It seems like a very supportive environment. It's so pretty up there and I love the little town. Letchworth is beautiful too.

I went to the University of Scranton for a year, and I hated it there. Maybe it was just the time I was there, but the people I encountered were primarily conceited, rude, and entitled. I transferred home and had a blast in my college years; I don't feel that I missed anything that I wanted to have.

I went to SUNY Delhi, while it was still a 2 yr school. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. I was heart broken to transfer. I then went to New Paltz. I hated the school but loved the area. My brother went to Lafayette College in PA. He had the most amazing experience and made the most amazing friends.
Just a suggestion, I had a wonderful experience studying abroad in London. I don't know if that is an option for your DD, if so make sure the school she picks has a great program. It was without a doubt one of the best experiences I have ever had.
Delhi is 4 years now? I went there 2 years and transferred to stony brook but lived off campus then. I sometimes wish i was in 1 school for 4 years and made more friendship bonds.
