What color/finish floors with salt oak furniture?
My living room is getting a make over and I know what furniture I want--but am stumped about the floor. If you have salt oak furniture what flooring color do you have? I see it with washed out finishes, darker greys and what I guess is a blonde. I tend to like lighter finishes and colors. TIA

Something like walnut to give it contrast. Edit, I would do a more classic floor, as salt oak is really, really trendy. To the poster below, it is weathered grey furniture. Which by the design manufacturers is already on its way out, so OP if you really love it, I would get it before you can't because they are not really showing that style much now. The latest styles are burl wood, teak, rosewood, walnut, white lacquer, and metals in the gold hues (brushed brass, brushed bronze).

Personally I would pick a flooring you like and then decide on furniture. To me furniture will be replaced long before a flooring. I personally like darker wood floors.

It's a very gray color. Usually has some brown undertones. Reminds me of a nice piece of drift wood.

I actually hate anything dark. Floors, furniture, walls. It's depressing and claustrophobic to me. My house is very beachy-chic. I already decided on the furniture so I have to get flooring that will go. We don't have real hard wood floors, just laminate so replacing it isn't all that expensive. I will probably keep the furniture at least 10 years.

I've already ordered it and not really worried about trendy. It's fits my house and style very well.

Ah - Ok, the gray. I know it.
I think any natural tone wood will work - nothing with too dark, deep or too red of a stain. Also, a NO shine poly finish - I'm assuming you're looking for a rustic or relaxed feel ......?
I'd go and look at samples, and pick something that looks natural and informal. Woods like cherry, for example, even without stain, seem more 'formal' in nature to me .......Where hickory or walnut, while you CAN make them very fancy and elaborate, the natural wood itself is more rustic looking ......

I went to an open house that had these floors. She bleached them. The entire house belonged on Pinterest. Their furniture was mixed. Dark brown leather couches , whites ..
Look up 321 Plainfield ave floral park. Floors look light brown but in person they were much lighter
