Egress window covers
We are getting an egress window installed in our basement today and I was wondering if anyone had a cover they could recommend so that nobody would fall into the hole? It's not in an area that is widely used but, I'd feel better with some sort of cover.
I did a quick search online and it was hard to tell.

We put white PVC fencing around ours. More decorative than privacy.

Lowe's has a cover I once got there, with grids on it, or you can get the plastic clear one that covers it.

Why isn't the company that is doing the egress provide the cover? The cover was included with my window. Had a few options to choose from and it was a perfect fit for the well.

I believe my husband may have purchased ours at a lumber/building supply company, like Kleet.

They purchased and installed the window and the stairs but, not the cover.
