Wifi Thermostats
Just wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations on wifi thermostats like the Nest or the Ecobee. I saw that National Grid is offering a $75.00 rebate if you buy one of these. The rebate ends at the end of the year.
Any feedback would be appreciated!

What do you love about the Nest? We leave our thermostat set at the same temp all day and all night. I have heard that the Nest learns your habits. Did you find that you saved money on your heating bill after you got the Nest?

I like that we can control it remotely from our phones from wherever we are, it has a built in motion sensor that kicks the heat up if it's been idle for X amount of hours, it definitely learns our habits, gives a nice snapshot of our heating usage, we can compare year to year this way as well.

Re: Wifi Thermostats
We just installed a WiFi Thermostat on the main level of our house. We were debating between Nest and Honeywell but opted to go with Honeywell because the interface looked nicer/clearer..
We plan to apply for the Rebate as well - I dont see anything on the app form about having it be specific to 1 brand..Any wifi thermostat will do.
Here is the form if anyone else wants to download :https://www.smartenergy-zone.com/nationalgridny/pdf/GT5.pdf

Re: Wifi Thermostats
We've had the Nest for quite a few years now (since it first came out). We use it for it's convenience, meaning we can adjust the temp from any of our devices or AV remotes.
I can't say it's really saving us any money because I'm home all day, so we don't bother with the learning mode...and I tend to have strong temp preferences, but it does come in handy to see what our usage was/is.

Wifi Thermostats
We have the Honeywell system and I love it. While we were on vacation I was able to turn the heat on at night on the second floor where my cats stay and then turn it off in the morning when the sun was enough to heat the house. I would have had to leave it on all week if it weren't for this system. I also love that I turn the heat off at night on the first floor and when I wake up in the morning I can turn it back on without having to leave my bed lol.
