Horrible acid reflux
Ugh, help. I am in my third trimester and have horrific acid reflux. Everyday, I get a tickle in my throat, then vomit. This has been happening to me for months actually. It just seems to be getting worse. I'm not nauseous, so I think it is just acid coming up. Tums help, but it's usually too late. Also, I realized that I eat tomatoes and onions for almost every meal (Italian/Mexican). Thoughts?

Re: Horrible acid reflux
Tums were good for short-term relief. With both of my pregnancies, Zantac was the only thing that got me through for longer term relief. Talk to your OB but it should be fine to take!
Also, you should probably try to stay away from the sauce, onions, and anything else that's acidic. Though for me, everything made me feel awful. Only the meds helped!

Horrible acid reflux
I have the same issue. My indigestion is so bad I vomit from it all the time. Sauce definitely doesn't help the situation. For a while I thought milk was causing it too. I'm 37 weeks and have been throwing up more now than I did in my 1st trimester. Like you said, Tums would help but then it's too late. Stay away from tomatoes and onions. I noticed eating other veggies helped me like celery, carrots, cucumbers.

Re: Horrible acid reflux
I was in the same boat. The heartburn started the day after my positive pregnancy test, I swear! The feeling of hot burning acid coming up my throat.. ugh, so painful. I suffered through it with tums, drinking milk, milk of magnesia. Now that I am in the 3rd trimester, I take a zantac right before I feel an episode coming on. It really helps. Ask your Dr about it.

Re: Horrible acid reflux
Tums did nothing for me. Zantac was a life saver. The heartburn literally went away right after I delivered.
