Positive Trump thread
This thread is ONLY for positive posts about Trump, his Cabinet, policies, etc. If you don't have anything positive to say, there are plenty of other threads to discuss him in.
I'm not looking to bait anyone, stir up anything, etc. Since nobody else is starting a thread like this, I figured I would.

Re: Positive Trump thread
He has stated many times over that he wants to move away from "nation building" in his foreign policy approach. This one thing is music to my ears, so long as he maintains that stance despite the GOP tendency to want to package American democracy and disseminate it through military intervention. It's a big move away from the Bush doctrine and a significant distinction from HRC, who tends to be pretty hawkish (e.g. Libya). I'm sort of sick of invading nations and then spending billions building bridges and schools overseas while our airports and roads crumble.

This. I really hope that it goes how he said it would. Especially keeping pre existing conditions coverage and children to 26. For Young adults going out into the workforce staying on their parents insurance a little longer will be helpful to them $$$
I'm hoping for help for small businesses. Especially here on LI. It's really tough. Tougher then people know unless you have one.
Immigration reform. High hopes for change here.
I say the word hope before each of my statements because it's exactly that. Hope. Hillary for me was 4 more wars of Obama. And as much as liked him, he forgot about a lot of America. I couldn't see 4 more years of waiting for other Americans concerns to be heard. I know he doesn't decide on everything alone And they (politicians) say a lot to get the job and then its business as usual. So hope is my word of the day.

Good points and I agree.
I do think he will generate jobs if he looks towards innovation and what'll be needed in the future.

Re: Positive Trump thread
This could have been a good thread but people just can't help themselves I guess.
He is pro policies that would be better for small businesses before they disappear entirely.
He is outwardly supportive of law enforcement.
He probably isn't going to spend his entire term making sure he does and says only things that get him re-elected.
He is in favor of immigration reform.
He doesn't owe 30 years worth of favors to people.
He admits that Obamacare has problems (it does!) but never said he was against the pre-existing condition and lifetime limit provisions (which is what everyone seems to be most fearful about).
I actually feel he is more socially liberal than people think.
FYI - he was not my first choice and I did not vote for him in the primary and I do not think he is the greatest candidate ever. But even with his tweets I still feel more comfortable than I would have with HRC.

I couldn't keep my insurance, it cost me more for a lesser plan with the ACA. I am glad it has helped so many, but for me, it is absolutely Terrible. So it's true, I couldn't handle 4 more years of that horrid insurance. That by the end of that 4 years would be close to $3000 a month with the way the rates keep going up.

So it's true, I couldn't handle 4 more years of that horrid insurance. That by the end of that 4 years would be close to $3000 a month with the way the rates keep going up.
Last year I paid $10,000 MORE for insurance, for less coverage. While I was able to keep my doctors, I was not able to "keep my plan." The ACA no longer allows insurance companies to offer different types of plans covering different things that people can choose from based on their budget and their needs. Instead, every plan has to by law cover certain things which forces everyone to pay for those things. This doesn't just apply to ACA plans - this is true for employer plans as well. For example, an 80 year old man doesn't need to be paying for reproductive health care.
I do think everyone should have access to affordable health insurance but the ACA was forced down our throats to get it passed quickly without anyone reading it (remember - she said to "pass it and read it later"). I truly hope and pray that if ACA is repealed, any replacement includes the pre-existing condition rule, and no lifetime limits.
Contrary to popular opinion, not everyone who is against the ACA wants everyone with pre-existing conditions to immediately die. I am more than willing to pay somewhat "more" if everyone can have insurance. However, I shouldn't have to stop contributing to my 401K and take on a side job (which I have) just to pay my premiums. Yeah, I know, "boo hoo for you, be thankful you have a job, some of us have no 401K" yes I know the script, but I've sacrificed a whole lot to be in the place I am now and no, quite frankly I'm not willing to give it all up.

I haven't seen any plan as to what's replacing ACA. I just hear it's going to be the best. If you are willing to pay more, that's great. Contact your local congressperson, and let them know that you want the pre-existing condition clause to stay. Because there seems to be no plan-- for anything.

Positive Trump thread
I'll join.
Setting aside his flaws and faults, I do think it's actually really interesting and telling that somebody with a non-political background was able to achieve the highest office of the land. We are so used to seeing the same political players every election cycle.
I actually find it pretty fascinating. It makes me wonder about where the minds are of many Americans. I would venture that many are sick of politics as usual
So I'm not sure if this is actually a positive thing to say about him… But he did achieve something that is very uncommon

I am avidly anti-Trump and I posted something serious and sincere. There's a lot of lumping going on today on these drama threads, and I don't think it's totally fair. In fact I often find that less aggressive, sensationalist posts get swallowed up and overlooked on these threads so everyone can pounce on the argument-bait. All sides need to take ownership of that.
