DD obsessed with death
My DD, 7, has been obsessed with death lately and I'm a little freaked out about it.
she frequently talks about heaven, people who have died (family and pets-all of which she was way too young to remember), coffins, cemeteries, etc. she even draws people in coffins or cemeteries. Nothing is "violent" in nature, just has a death-related theme. She asks questions about it too, like "can hear when you're dead? Play with toys?" Etc. She's not talking about it in a scared way or a mean way, just very factual. We haven't had anyone pass away recently so I have no idea where it all came from.
I don't know if she does it at school, no teachers have said anything about it.
Anyone have any thoughts?? Should I be concerned??

Re: DD obsessed with death
Nope, I think it's perfectly normal as she is probably just trying to wrap her brain around the concept. At age 7, children are typically able to start to think more abstractly so that could be why it's happening now. I would answer her questions as they come up, and maybe buy a book about the life cycle or death of a pet, something not too scary to help her process.
