What's the purpose of that though? Does anyone really think a front desk clerk at one of the Trump hotels is going to relay him a message? Most likely they would hang up on you.

It's a passive aggressive way of costing him money. If his front desk is spending all their time answering the phone with these calls, they aren't doing their real job.
It won't actually accomplish much, but it's a way to lash out without causing real damage.

I believe it's a way to make a statement about the fact that Dump has not divested from his businesses, an obvious blurring of boundaries and fundamental conflict of interest. He is cutting off the people from commenting on his performance as president, but his business lines are still open. of course. Calling them makes sense to me.

Even if the WH phone line is opened, is that really an effective way to communicate a complaint? I just imagine someone answering the phone, listening to the caller, and then doing nothing with the information. It would be interesting to know the process of how the information is aggregated and passed on.

Or you could book rooms and make sure to cancel within the allowed time, say 48 hours, and they would lose money. Another board I read is thinking of doing this...

No great change has EVER happened in this country by people being quiet. It's understood that he is the president and of course we can't change that however, being heard and expressing our concern is the single BEST thing any American citizen can do.
When we as a society become complacent is when our government will begin to get away with everything and anything. We MUST hold our politicians accountable, we MUST be vigilant as American citizens to ensure our rights, and we MUST keep our voices heard.
The "wait and see" attitude, especially with someone like Trump, it the WORST thing we can all do. We cannot allow him to run all over this country and destroy what took hundreds of years to build. We cannot wait around while he divides this country, alienates us from the rest of the world, and systematically implements programs that hurts us all.
This is NOT about "growing up" and moving on................it's about standing up for what is right and just. JMO.

Are you aware of how much social change has come from people marching, speaking up and protesting? Laws to provide equality for racial minorities, laws to provide equality for the LGBQT community, laws to provide equality for women. All of those laws came to be because people insisted on speaking up and being heard. And now Trump is looking to do away with or undermine so much of that progress. Maybe you are lucky enough to never have needed any of those laws to protect your rights, but there are many, many who are not so fortunate. Yes, he is our president - but that does not mean we are all required to sit back and shut up. In fact, a democracy only thrives when people question the "status quo" and fight for what they see is right. So maybe you need to grow up

This is a movement and this will have change. Not tomorrow but it's coming! 2 more years until we can flip seats in the house and Senate. Also I and many other won't move on because everyday citzens have to keep fighting for democracy because if we don't this Dictator will take over.

If you take the "wait and see" approach it'll be too late. After one week officially on the job I think we have a good indication of what's to come. No need to wait and see. The writing is on the Mexican wall and it has been since this man reared his ugly face into the election. Wait and see what? How much worse it will get before YOU think of speaking up?? Please, enjoy that seat while you sit idly by and let this man destroy us.
