Post partum preclampsia and second pregnancy
Hi Everyone!
I was on these boards over a year ago. My daughter recently turned one. I ended up having post partum preclampsia with her and being re-hospitalized after she was born. I recently found out I am pregnant again and very scared. I'm hoping to connect with someone that has been in a similar situation. So if you know someone or are someone that has experienced this, please PM me.
Thanks so much!

Post partum preclampsia and second pregnancy
Had the exact same thing happen to me my first pregnancy! I had no issues at all my 2nd pregnancy thankfully. The doctor said there was no reason it would happen again & he was right. They did watch me carefully after delivery which I was happy about it but all went well. Enjoy your pregnancy

Re: Post partum preclampsia and second pregnancy
I developed severe pre-e and then HELLP after delivery. It was all horrible. I too was readmitted to the hospital after being discharged. I delivered at 36w6d via c-section after a failed induction bc of my pre-e.
For my 2nd I wanted a completely different experience (so much so that I wanted a VBAC) and hoped not to have the same issues. I did go on blood pressure meds at 17weeks but delivered my son at 40w3d via vbac with no complications. During labor they did prep the magnesium (which I DID NOT want) bc my BP was elevated but after the epidural it normalized and they didn't give me the mag.
It is definitely scary and I did not want to endure what for me was such a traumatic delivery (i had 3 pumps with meds, it was 2 days in a room with no window, i was on all types of meds, i started peeing blood, the epidural caused my bp to drop and I felt a strange tunnel feeling and the mds and nurses started rushing and doing things) again so I was afraid at times but as the pregnancy progressed I calmed down. I felt great the entire time.
It can be different this time.
