I am a general hater of most bosses bc I think they forget what it is like before they are in charge..

Anyways, I am an admin assistant NOT a personal assistant and have had many boss's over the years.

Some of the tasks I have been asked to do..

1) Print Out My Boss's Christmas Newsletter and Mail it to his family..

2) Was asked to shred boxes of documents and upon further inspection realized it was his wife's paperwork not even his..

3) Had to go to Petty cash to get reimbursement on a toll that cost him $2.00. Yes, $2.00...

When I worked in the city I was an assistant to the admin. assistant of the CEO. He used to make her heat his soup up in the microwave. Stir it half way through and then microwave it again. I used to sit there and think I can't believe this f*cking guy can't microwave his own soup. I am pretty sure that is where I draw the line.. lol

This never ceases to amaze me! I'm an administrative receptionist, so I'm not *technically* anyone's assistant, but we've been asked to assemble training packets, make centerpieces for events, sign and assemble Christmas cards (which we then had to do over because someone signed them with a smiley face and the partner was pissed!! ).

I also do expenses/invoices and I've had to expense a pack of raisinets. I sh!t you not. The person was travelling and bought raisinets in the airport and carried that receipt all the way from the West coast back to NY so they could get their $1.35 back.

Two departments ago, my general manager asked me do his daughter's writing assignment, and to write it like an 8 year old Japanese girl in an American school.
I said no, I had no time since the trading operations took up most of my day.

Oh I have a ton of crap from when I first started working. I was 21 working for an Investment Bank and got a really good job working in personal PR department for the CEO. Basically, the other assistant and I were his *******. Every morning we had to set up his breakfast delivered from the dining room in a specific way. Plates and forks and food on the plate had to be in a certain way. When he was speaking at conferences in the city, we needed to get him a day room at the hotels and had to set up his room - put out his shaver, favorite candies, etc. We had to stand next to him at cocktail parties just holding his plate. He would make us change clothes - on the company dime if he didn't like what we were wearing and we always had to wear skirts. Think of the Devil Wears Prada movie and that was me. It was ridiculous and sexist BUT after working with him for 1.5 years I ended up getting a fabulous PR job (real PR) at a different investment bank thanks to him.

Honestly nothing. He knows better.....
I remember years ago I used to yell a lot about not being his secretary. I haven't done that in years so.he must have gotten the hint

My boss had gotten into a minor fender bender on is way in one morning. He called me outside to look at his car and then told me to screw his license plate back on.....I was 8 months pregnant at the time!
I called him a few inappropriate names and walked back inside.

My old boss was computer illiterate so I would have to do everything for him including scanning pics of him in a loin cloth for his match .com profile.

I had to write a eulogy for him for his aunt. Not just type it up....write it. I must say I did a great job and there wasn't a dry eye in the church when he was reading it!
