Registry Question: Rocker VS Swing
What is the difference between a rocker and a swing for the baby? Do I need both of these items? They seem a bit redundant.

Registry Question: Rocker VS Swing
Depends.. which are you getting? I have the graco lounger rockers. Those they slept in. The swing I have a mamaroo and a graco actual swing like swings back and forth. I used them all and continue to use them

Registry Question: Rocker VS Swing
DD had a mamaroo and hated it because the swing went front to back. We kept it, but ended up buying a cheap swing for like $50 that went left to right. So based on personal experience, I would get a swing that goes left to right. My sister has a graco one that is a left to right swing and she loves it. Her son slept in it for a long time.
As far as a rocker goes, we just had a rock and play sleeper for dd to sleep in at night for the first 3 months. We had the halo bassinest cosleeper, but it didn't really work out well because dd had reflux and couldn't lay flat for awhile in the beginning. We sold it and bought the rock and play for her to sleep in instead. I didn't actually use the rocking setting much, though. The rock and play is absolute best thing we ever purchased for dd. I would highly recommend it. She slept 9 straight hours the first night she slept in it, and that was at around 6 or 7 weeks old. We kept her in it until about 3 months, then transitioned into the crib.

Re: Registry Question: Rocker VS Swing
I would put both. It's good to have options because your baby may like one or the other better. I like to rotate DS between a swing, bouncer, and 2 play mats during the day.

Re: Registry Question: Rocker VS Swing
We purchased both the RNP sleeper and a graco swing.
The RNP sleeper we plan on using for naps during the day, or for overnight, if she has reflux issues. Ideally, she will be in a bassinet overnight, but we have the RNP just in case
The swing we purchased has the option to swing front/back or left/right. It also has the removable base, so we can use it as a small rocking chair for her if she doesn't like the swinging motion.
