Activities/Sports for an active 9 year old
Here's the catch, he has had 3 concussions, therefore he is prone to get them more now. He also has ADHD. And possible brain damage from the concussions
He played tackle football. The concussion specialist OK-ed baseball, but it's fall.
I was thinking karate.
Give me your best ideas

Re: Activities/Sports for an active 9 year old
swimming
Michael Phelps has ADHD.
The pool is supposed to be calming for that condition
Concussion - should be safe. The only thing to watch for is backstroke and hitting the head on the wall - but they teach you how not to do that.
There is year round swimming at a few places such as Long Island Aquatic Club (out of the aquatic center at Eisenhower Park)
Long Island Express - out of Hofstra
Long Beach
others in Suffolk but I don't know where they are out of or their names

I second swimming. DH was a high level ADHD kid and was a competitive swimmer up through high school.
Is he too cool for dance? My son loves to dance and he is almost 10.

I would pass on football and baseball. Basketball and swimming seem like better options to me (also a parent of a child who has had a concussion).
