Anyone here use a personal trainer?
Looking into this to kick my butt back in gear. Have gained weight and need help. Looking into options. If you don't mind sharing, how much do you pay for a personal trainer and is it 1:1 or small group sessions (which I'd be ok with)? TiA.

Re: Anyone here use a personal trainer?
I've used a personal trainer, one/one. I cant remember what I paid it was through the gym, but I split the session to 1/2 hr to stretch them out. I loved it, he kept count, he fit the equipment for me, he did exercises with me, jumping jacks etc. He was nice to look at thought I would feel embarrassed, that people would be watching, if they did I didnt care.

Re: Anyone here use a personal trainer?
I've used a trainer at 2 different times in my life. Both times got me into the best shape of my life. The first one was $35 for 30 mins. 1 on 1 High Intensity Interval Training. LOVED this work out.
The second was about $47 for an hour for a semi private class. It had 8-10 of his clients in each class.
Do it! You won't regret it.

I just started working with a trainer to help get stronger following a back injury. Best decision I could make. I pay for $50 for half hour sessions but sometimes they have promotions like buy 4 get one free. It makes a big difference to make sure that you are using correct form. And I'm terrified of getting hurt again.

I paid $30 for 30 or $60 for the hour. I had mixed feelings.. it's good in the sense that you make an appointment and go. But you need to do cardio and more on your own, unless you plan to go 5 times a week. I got better results with the beach body programs and they are way cheaper. You just need to hold yourself accountable and do them..

Re: Anyone here use a personal trainer?
I worked with one for a year. It was $50 half hr and I went twice a week. He got me back into shape and it was a good way to get back in to the gym after only running for a few years which was intimidating. That said, I used him as a crutch and only went when we had a session. I wound up switching to crossfit a year ago and it's similar to a lot of the things I was doing with my trainer but much cheaper and I got way better results. I also go more often and feel like they emphasize the nutrition aspect more. My trainer told me in order to lean out I should basically eat nothing for a week!

I've worked with a personal trainer. It's great motivation to get to the gym if you need that. Even if you have been working out on your own, you need to change up your routine periodically to continue seeing results. A personal trainer is great for that. I don't remember what I paid, but it was through my gym, so it was some kind of package deal.

That's insane! I've never had a trainer tell me that, the opposite in fact. Every trainer I've worked with emphasized clean eating, post-workout nutrition being especially important.

I know right?! Especially knowing what I know now about eating more to gain muscle and appear leaner! But I digress...
