Babysitter Pay
Does the sitter's age and experience come into play?
I have two girls (14 and 15) with just a little experience watching a 4 and 7 year old for date nights maybe once a month.

Re: Babysitter Pay
Definitely, I don't pay my non driving sitters as much as my sitters who can drive themselves to and from my house. ETA: my 12-16 year old sitters I pay $11-$13 an hour and my college girl I pay $15.

Babysitter Pay
I don't do it based on experience but what they need to do. I have 3 kids 7 and under. I live in the South. We had a sitter every m-w from 8a-2p. We paid $15 an hour. She made meals and cleaned up after them. We have another sitter now since she went back to college and she is date nights only. Normally from 7p-11p or so. We pay $10. Our kids have already ate, bathed and and she does is snack and play. By 9 at the latest they are asleep. She's in HS so she studies or relaxes. If we are out past 12 we tell her to sleep if she wants in the spare room by the kids. Works well for us and they adore her. In my experience age and years with kids hasn't mattered. I would rather a teen or young adult watch my kids. They tend to be more interactive and fun.
