Re: PBK Backpack sizing
I just ordered a small for my kindergartener! Per their sizing, it fits children who are 43" to 49" tall.

I ordered a small too. The large would knock her over!

PBK Backpack sizing
My friend ordered a small for her kindergartener and says it's too small (and he is in the size range).

Yes I have heard this too. I hear the small is ok for Pre K but it's tiny. Way smaller than the average character back pack from Target I would also imagine if you are getting a PBK backpack you want to use it multiple years so I'd get the large

Re: PBK Backpack sizing
My daughter used a small for pre-k but I ordered her a large for kindergarten and am glad I did. It's really not that much bigger and certainly won't knock her over.

My DD had a large for K and it was perfect for her. Yes, it was on thr bigger side for her body, but it fit everything she needed. The small would have been too small.

Re: PBK Backpack sizing
It's got to fit a folder and some books. Unfortunately, although the large looks huge... it's the size you will ultimately need. We used the small for preK.

Last year for Kindergarten DD had a size Small and I ordered another small for this year. Shes in the 94% for height at age 6 and the small has been plenty big. This summer for camp it held a towel lunch change of clothes water bottle, etc...

Re: PBK Backpack sizing
You need a large for Kindergarten. I made the mistake the first year my oldest went to Kindergarten. Just wait until you try to put a lunch box, snack bag, and folders and projects in it. It is way too small. Get the large
ETA my dd is a peanut she was the smallest in her class and she handled the large just fine.

Re: PBK Backpack sizing
Definitely the large. That's they size I use for both of my kids for daycare. It's too big for my DD (2yo) but my DS could wear it (4.5yo) easily, though we've recently stopped using his b/c it broke.
ETA: You didn't ask, but I personally would not recommend the PBK backpacks. The zippers never last long. They will replace it for free the first time, but I've been using them for a few years and they never last longer than a year. We've finally given up on them.
