Housewarming gift?
Fire extinguisher!!! My DH gives them for every house warming and I always get a candle (because everyone likes when their house smells nice and it's funny to get something that is set on fire in addition to an extinguisher). It's something that is great to have, but many people do not think to get themselves.

Housewarming gift?
Agree on a gift card!!! Depending on the house/couple, it can be Home Depot/Lowes, BBB, Target etc... If yoou want to get something else as well, I remember someone giving us a welcome Mat which I thought was a cute idea :)

A flower arrangement would make a great gift. If you have Costco membership, they have couple of arrangements and prices are great.
