Outdoor Projector?
Does anyone have a projector for outdoors that you can hook up to your phone or TV? This is what DH wants for his birthday or Christmas and I have no idea where to start. There's tons of options ranging from $50 to a couple hundred. We don't need top of the line, obviously, but he wants it for football games, movies, etc.
ETA: Also, would I need a screen? We have a garage with a big white wall we figured we could project onto. Or I've read you can just use a sheet?

Re: Outdoor Projector?
There's three main categories of projectors. The small, cheap "mini" projectors. Those are designed to attach to a computer or even a phone sometimes, and project a TV sized image in a dark room.
The high-end projectors are extremely bright, very high resolution, and are thousands of dollars.
You want the mid-range. They are in the hundreds of dollars range, can project up to a several feet across image (bed sheet size or bigger), and can display in average light. Maybe not outdoors at noon, but inside with all of the lights on, or dusk outside.
I have a mid-range projector, and I use it to display slide shows on a wall during some events I'm in. School cafeteria with all of the lights on, and the image is about 10' across, maybe up to 15' diagonal.
This is a good explanation of projectors: https://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2374594,00.asp The projectors they list are on the higher-end.
This list of projectors is in the couple of hundred dollar range, which I think is probably where you want to look. https://www.lifewire.com/best-cheap-projectors-to-buy-4062263

Thank you!! Yes, I was looking at articles similar to these and I think I have a better idea of what I'm looking for- at least 2000 lumens, minimal 720P, but preferably 1080P. I think I've found an Epson I like for around $400. I'd rather spend the money on a decent one now rather then getting a cheap mini. Definitely don't need a high end one though!

Re: Outdoor Projector?
We have a projector. I can be used outdoors and we have outdoor movie nights. We used to use it as our tv in our bedroom but honestly, it became a pain. NIce for outdoor movies though.
