Need to buy a new comfortable sofa that’s cheap
We had couches from Bob's and they were so comfortable. After my dog ate the side of one (ughh) we went to Raymour and Flanigan for couches and I really regret buying them.

We bought from Raymour and Flanigan's outlet and have been decently happy. 1 couch was 450, the other was 550. The one for 450 was a larger more expensive couch with a small rip at the bottom rear corner. since we were putting against the wall and it really was small, we had no problem with it.
The cushions sag a big now, but its probably 9 years old.
For your timeframe if those Ikea couches are halfway decent, it seems like a great deal

I had this couch. Very comfy and inexpensive.
Doesn't Ikea still have that section where things are cheaper because they might be slightly damaged? Like has a scratch/small defect. Check that area too.

Comfortable is relative and not really related to how expensive or cheap the couch is.
I have had cheap couches that are super comfy and expensive ones that are horribly uncomfortable.
It really depends on the style and how it's designed.
My current couch is from Raymour- probably wasn't' cheap but I don't remember how much we paid since it's about 6 years old.
Super comfy. Like I'd rather sleep there then in my bed!
I agree with the others about Ikea and Bob's. But you have to definitely sit and lay on them to test out the comfort level
