Who do you use for home/car insurance?
I'm so angry right now. I've been with state farm for 19 years! I got my husband on my policy and we have our homeowners policy from them too. Recently we've used our glass coverage a lot between two cars. Mostly from a small pebble that eventually splits across. And once this summer bc when dh was weed whacking a pebble broke the back window. I called and asked if we would be dropped if we claimed the back window. And they said no. I just got a letter saying they are dropping our glass coverage. I'm seeing red! Why do we have insurance if we can't claim anything! I'm ready to call my agent who I've known for a long time and say FU!
I've been told State Farm is one of the best because they pay when it's needed. But their prices are higher and now I don't have glass coverage! I looked passed the higher prices but now I'm just pissed.
Who do you have? And have you made claims? How were they when making a claim?
Dh has never had an accident to claim and I have only had one over 10 years ago. So it's not like we are claiming all the time!

Who do you use for home/car insurance?
Allstate. Never had an issue and my policy goes up less than a few bucks a year. 1 claim and 1 ticket on car. No home owner claims

It’s most like because you made a few claims in a short period of time. You said a lot of claims. If it’s over a short period of time carriers will drop you

Geico. We had State Farm and our rates kept going up, even on my old car. Kept getting the most ridiculous answers as to why my car cost so much to insure. Geico was a lot cheaper for the cars, but slightly higher for the home.

They list 5 times over 3 years for 2 cars. I mean I guess I get that a little. But we have no tickets and now no accidents so they want to lose us over glass claims that we have no control over ya know.

Re: Who do you use for home/car insurance?
Were the glass claims replacement of entire windshields every time? When a pebble hits your windshield, and you just get that little nick, that is when you put in the claim. They repair the tiny nick for next to nothing and then it doesn't spread. Getting the whole windshield replaced is major. If you had that done 5 times, then that's likely why you're being dropped.
We use Allstate. We've had 2 glass claims in the past 3ish years, but both were the minor ones I described above.

I didn't know you can do that. I thought they have to replace the whole thing no matter what so we always wait until it splits

Yes - you can get small nicks and cracks patched, it's through the same company that replaces windshields.
Even though glass coverage is separate, it's considered a claim.
We've been with Allstate for years and are happy with them.

Yes, in fact, we had it done last weekend. They give you a 2-hour window and do it in your driveway. It takes maybe 15 minutes. Super easy!

Re: Who do you use for home/car insurance?
We have Allstate for both and when we bought our house 5 years ago, they were the cheapest quote we got to bundle the house and cars. However, it’s gone up significantly so I think I need to shop around. We pay just over $2200/ year for homeowners and just under $2,300/year for 2 cars. We don’t have any claims for home or auto.

Who do you use for home/car insurance?
I have State Farm. I've had them so long, I have a guaranteed no cancellation - regardless of the number of claims. I've had ONE accident, that was 100% the other driver's fault (rear end collision) and they paid the medical bills without question for years.
