Instant Pot newbie
I recently got one am and so intimidated by it! Anyones start out this way and now love it?

Instant Pot newbie
Which model did you get? If you haven’t done it already, do the water test just so you can get used to the buttons and the valve. There are you tube videos for it. There are many Facebook pages. Some are more helpful than others. I usually make soups, boil potatoes, eggs, rice, and yogurt in it. Need to try bone broth. I love that when I make stews and soups, I can sauté onions in it, add rest of the ingredients and set the time. I don’t have to stir it or watch it. When it’s done, it beeps and you can let the pressure release by itself or do it manually. You will get used to it after using it couple of times. I love the stainless steel pot. It’s easy to clean.

Thank you! Yes, I love that you can saute in there and not have to use numerous pots. The pressure cooker thing is scary to me because I've never used one. I'm so scared it's going to explode lol. I joined a FB group and looks like I can get a bunch of recipe ideas and tips there. Thanks!

I am a huge fan of mine. Today I boiled my eggs for the week and made a pot roast...after I cooked the meat, I made and thickened my gravy in it! I rave about it to everyone! It has changed my cooking so much! Everything takes less time!

I keep looking at these online.
Would you say it can be a replacement for a crockpot though being that timing can be delayed, etc.? Although not sure if I would an Insta Pot when no one is home.
Also, how do you get over the fear of it pressure exploding?

There are lots of other IP groups specific to topics like weight watchers, beginners, etc

I have the Instant Pot brand, and it has a slow cooking feature.
I made hard boiled eggs in mine to make sure I could actually do it. The next day I made beef stew. Well, I hit the "quick release" steam valve when it was done, and I had stew spewing all over my kitchen LOL....not fun! Next time I know to just keep it on "natural release" (which seems to take forever!)
