RCCL Anthem of the Seas
We are going on RCCL Anthem of the Seas over February break. We are taking our 2yo, 4yo and 5yo. One of the stops is Port Canaveral. Any ideas for excursions? While I know they would LOVE to go to Disney I feel its so expensive and we won't have much time there.
Any ideas?? Or any feedback from anyone who has been on this ship? I'm a little nervous cruising in the Winter!!

Re: RCCL Anthem of the Seas
Do any of the kids like space? We went with my grandson recently to the Kennedy Space Center, which is close by. He was 4 at the time. Enjoy the cruise. I have not been on the Anthem, but on other Royal Caribbean ships, and they are great!

I would stay on the ship and enjoy the emptiness of it!

i was gonna say the space center, too. my boys are 7 and 4, and they liked it when we went in november.
we went on a disney cruise that left out of port canaveral, so we flew in the day before the cruise and went to the space center for the day.

We drive to Disney Springs. We eat, shop, went to a movie etc.

This is our plan for now but I wanted to see if anyone had better ideas. Nothing seems worth the cost and hassle of getting off the ship.

Is I Drive 360 an option? I think that's what we may do when we're there in May.

I definitely wouldn't waste your time and money doing that. We haven't done it, but it looks very unimpressive since there is nothing really "exciting" to see in Orlando from that view. Not to mention the fact that you have to rent a car or uber to get there.

RCCL Anthem of the Seas
We went on the Anthem this past November with my 5 yo & 7yo. We stayed on the ship at Port Canaveral and enjoyed the pool. I didn't mind, it was my 1st time staying on the ship while at port. A lot of the activities were not available while the ship is at port such as rock climbing, surfing... I was hoping the ship was empty, but it wasn't. That November week, the ship was at full capacity. It wasn't worth it make the trip to the Disney parks. I would maybe consider Disney Springs.

No car needed. They provide a bus to get you there and back. Included in the excurious is tix to Madame Tussauds, the Orlando Eye, and the aquarium. There are also a lot of restaurants and shops to entertain you there.

Re: RCCL Anthem of the Seas
I'm going on this cruise in April with my DH, 4 and 7 yo boys.
I REALLY wanted to pop over to Universal but once I added up the cost and time it was not worth it. We'll plan a separate vacation to Orlando another time.
Instead we're going to visit the space center and do half-day tour. I figured that will give us some learnings and then some time to explore on our own.
Please post about the cruise when you're back. I can't wait to go! First time cruising with children. I'm mostly looking forward to them going to "camp" and DH and I getting some alone time. Win win!
Have a great trip!

If we didn’t have family that lived minutes from the port, this is what we’d do.

I Drive 360 = International Drive 360. It's the name, not a description. You don't actually drive it. It's shops, museums, restaurants, etc.

Right, I thought it was the Orlando "eye" thing
