Where would you go for 2 nights no kids for a 40th birthday?
Looking for a short flight, somewhere on the beach, with some options for restaurants/bars at night. We never have taken a vacation without kids except for out east so I want this to be somewhere good! Month of November so somewhere with warm weather. Need hotel recommendations also. Thanks for your suggestions!

Bermuda. It's a short flight from NY. Can't recommend hotels though, only stopped with a cruise.

The only thing is in Nov, the weather in Bermuda might be chilly. They are really a May to Oct type place if you are looking for warm/beach weather

I did think of that. Is 40 to old to go to Miami for a weekend though? Any hotel recommendations?. The last time I was there I was 22 years old!

No. There is no age limit for Miami. i am sure certain bars and clubs are younger but there is plenty to do for all ages. I only stayed for work- once at the Ritz in Key Biscayne- but that's a bit of a ride to all the action. There are other Ritz's in South Beach etc

Or if you don't care about a ton of night life (like I don't ) you can do the gulf coast. We are going here again and it is ALL about laying in a chair and having your drinks brought to you by the pool AND on the beach. Heaven on earth Click here

I definitely don't need a ton of nightlife. I just want somewhere within walking distance to the resort to have some choices for dinner/drinks so I don't feel confined at night. :) It is more important to have a direct flight, preferably from Islip. I do love the gulf coast...

We fly direct from Islip to Tampa and you can rent a car or Uber it to the hotel I posted above. It's about 30 min from the airport. It's soooo relaxing and beautiful there. 5 star experience for sure.
They also have a sister resort about a mile away. Opal Sands. I have never stayed there but it looks incredible too

We were looking into that area a few months ago. My mom is a TA and she spoke highly of the Don Cesar. She also had a lot of good to say about the Opal and the Sand Pearl so I'm sure they are all winners. She was just there and stayed at the Hyatt. She loved it.

You could fly direct to West Palm and stay at the Breakers. That's really nice and there is a ton of stuff to do in West Palm Beach itself.

Puerto Rico?
Flights are usually cheap, so are luxury resorts- plus wouldn’t hurt to help their economy right now :)

DH and I had a great time in Fort Lauderdale - would totally recommend. Key West is great but it’s hard to get to for just 2 nights.

Wow - that place looks really nice.
We stayed at the W. We mainly relaxed by the pool (it was windy and a little chilly so we didn't go to the beach), went on a bike ride and went to happy hour - just relaxed most of the time. We did take an Uber to the track at Gulfstream - which was a lot more upscale than any track around here (it was chilly that day so it wasn't really a pool day).
The beach was beautiful and there was a lot to do and a lot of time to relax. We stayed 4.5 nights (we flew out late Tuesday and didn't get to the hotel until 4am).
There are frequent flights there on JetBlue - we were supposed to fly out during the last snowmageddon but, flew out the night before.
