I need help on where to purchase a good wig
A close relative is currently going through chemo and she is losing her hair. She has asked me to research stores that sell good wigs. Does anyone have any recommendations? We are located in western Suffolk but are willing to travel.

I wish I knew the name, but there is suppose to be a very good wig store east of the Smith Haven Mall (maybe 1/2 mile past the mall).

Several organizations offer free or discounted wigs (or have special stores that give wigs free).....
-American Cancer Society
-Cancer Care
-Friends are by your side
I'm sure there are others but these are the ones that come to mind first!

If you are willing to travel, I would look at stores in heavily Jewish parts of Brooklyn (or any area with a large orthodox population). Google "sheitel."
Also keep in mind that her insurance should cover at least part of the cost.

Catherine Roberts Wig Salon in Massapequa. You have to call to make an appt.
She's very nice and my relative was treated very well. This place was highly recommended by her oncologist's office. She helped us figure out insurance and had a selection of scarves and hats with hair that my relative ended up wearing a lot. I am sorry that your relative is going through this.
