Day in the city - UPDATE
Going with about 5 girls. Looking for something to do. We have done and seen a lot of Broadway shows. Thinking something different. Maybe musuem, drinks somewhere then walk around and dinner and drinks and the train home.
Maybe a tour that's worth doing?
We all go to the city once in a while, but we haven't done this in a couple of years together so wanted to do a day trip.
Thanks!
UPDATE - Ok... we decided we want to go to some fun places to drink. Any recommendations? Rooftop? Theme? Something all in an area so we can walk around. Any advise? THanks

Day in the city
Food tour? There a bunch of companies that do it https://sidewalksofny.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl42T0-Hn2gIVhGSGCh18mgVjEAAYBCAAEgJGxfD_BwE
Maybe a murder mystery thing or comedy club
Governor's Island
Check out Opry, great restaurant! Country theme, has live music on the stage, the food is great, we loved it!

Re: Day in the city
They have some cool museum scavenger hunt activities- check out groupon. Otherwise, you can't go wrong at MoMa or Central Park. Go boating on the lake there! It was so much fun!

See update. Decided we are just there for drinking and eating and walking around. I guess we've all done it all and want to have fun celebrating our birthdays. LOL

Re: Day in the city - UPDATE
Two places come to my mind: - High line and find some place in the meat packing - Battery Park City, and drinks in the Conrad's rooftop

Re: Day in the city - UPDATE
I'd walk the high line and grab drinks at either the Standard Hotel or their beergarden, Gansevoort hotel, or Gallows Green (rooftop on top of McKittrick Hotel where they show asleep no more).
For rooftop bars, I really like the bar the the top of the Rare restaurant (inside a hotel) on 26th and 7th (walking distance from Penn). Has great view of Empire State Building and doesn't get as crazy as 230 Fifth (another rooftop bar - but a nutso one!).
If you guys decide to do something like a Circle Line cruise, or you find yourselves in the Hell's Kitchen/theater district area, check out the rooftop bar Ink 48. It's on top of the kimpton hotel on 11th and 48th street. Awesome Hudson River views.
Empire hotel in lincoln center also has a rooftop bar that turns into a club at night.
Boat basin cafe on 79th and west End avenue is fun if you want to walk along the river on the upper west side. They have food too.
If you're downtown and walking along the river, check out The frying Pan, around 12th street and the river. It's a boat docked on the pier with a fun vibe.
Further downtown on the river is City Vineyard. It's a cute spot. The wine kind of sucks though.
Finally, of you want to wander, and stumble upon one of the coolest blocks in Manhattan in the financial district/TriBeCa, check out Stone Street. It's a cobblestone street that is only a block or two long The is lined with bars and restaurants and picnic tables on the street. It's closed to traffic. Totally feels like you stumbled across a European city. Very cool.
Can you tell my husband and I like to drink...and drink outdoors...?
Have fun!!!!!

I like the Kimberly Hotel rooftop bar. Also I think now Eataly has one too. I haven’t been but it’s a huge fun place to walk around and is IN midtown by Penn.

If you're in the Battery Park park area check out Loopy Doopy at the top of the Conrad hotel for prosecco & ice pop cocktails. :)
