Sliding door probs
Hey guys
I have two sliding doors; One in the kitchen where I have enough room for a rod and a finial at the end
The other is recessed with no room left to right and in the kids playroom
Both doors are 70" long and are used all the time
My original intention was to hang curtain rods (bed bath beyond) with curtains so that I can just slide the curtains all the way to one side (opposite the part of the door that opens) in the daytime and close them at night. Or slide them all the way open to go out the doors , obviously
My recessed door can only have a ceiling mounted rod or some sort of side mounted bracket which I'm not sure exists
The other one can have a rod with a decorative finial
My question is with a 70" door and rod would I need a support bracket in the middle ? It dawned on me that I might although I don't want one cuz then I can't slide the curtains all the way to one side
Do you guys have any other suggestions for a slider door covering? I have such a hard time with things like this pls help

Sliding door probs
We have curtains covering our sliding doors. One we done open often but the other we use all the time. Yes, you will need a support rod and I think any rod that length will come with it. We have a pull back on the side we go out so that keeps the curtain out of the way. No issues going in and out.
For your other room you could look into plantain shutters. My parents have these over sliding doors.

Sliding door probs
I have a friend dealing with this now. Someone suggested if you use metal plumbing tubing it would be strong/sturdy enough not to need a middle bracket. I think most standard curtain rods would require the bracket.

I answered on your other thread as well.
Use one panel and a track system. No need for support brackets with track.

I would also suggest going with a heavy duty rod (possibly solid steel, or at least thick walled steel tube), and not a "curtain rod". With a thick enough rod, you can span 30 feet or more without a curtain making it sag....

You can purchase traverse rods (track) from HD, Lowes, Amazon. I am sure other stores have as well.
Not sure if this is what GoldenRod is referring to but check out this page or google "galvanized pipe drapery rod".
