Networking Event Ideas
Hi
I was wondering if anyone has been to a networking event in the financial/accounting field that had something fun instead of a panel or just one speaker. We thought of a game but marketing didn’t like the idea.

I'm an accountant and the funnest ones I've ended up at have been happy hours. LOL.
ETA - Golf outings are big too although I'm not a golfer so I've never really gone to those.

I know happy hours are the best! I guess a drinking game would be unprofessional. Haha.
Not a golfer either and it’s so hard not to be in this field.
We are trying to fill an event we are planning with something fun.

Not a networking event but I did go to a party once where they had a game show set yup. Kinda like jeapordy. With a panel w lights and buzzers to press. That might be kinda fun to rent someone who does that and give them questions and answers based on your profession and throw some random funny stuff in there. People may get a kick out of that

I've done trade shows to meet new agents and try to bring agents to our booth. In others I have seen a psychic, someone famous signing autographs, nice stuff to give away they'll actually use, games, etc.
We have done events for happy hour and have gotten a good band or cover band that played and was fun.
When I was in Hawaii about 11 years ago a company got Bon Jovi to come and play. LOL! I'm sure that wasn't cheap. I think that was more for the top selling employees that won the trip and show. LOL!

We had one in Salem. Had a huge scavenger hunt and then a cocktail hour at night. It was awesome.

A brewery? We have had client events at a local brewery (not in NY) and they were our best attended events.
