Bed Bath & Beyond - return/broken vacuum
Just read that BBB has officially changed their policy effective today to only be ones with receipts.
Personally, i think people took advantage of it for way too long and am glad they’re finally saying no to taking back any item, regardless of lack of receipt and condition.

Exactly. It's one thing to have a liberal return policy and great customer service. It's another to be a sucker. If my coffee pot breaks after 7 years of use, I suck it up to life. Things break. It's normal wear and tear. They don't last forever. You have to pay to replace them. BBB doesn't owe me a living.

Re: Bed Bath & Beyond - return/broken vacuum
I looked to see and it seems the only change is the time frame. Now it has to be within a year. They will still take things back with no receipt. As per their website:
Returns without a Receipt Misplaced your receipt or packing slip? We can help! If your purchase was made within the past year, we'll try to find a record of it using any of the following:
Credit/Debit Card Merchandise Credit Number Gift Card Number Order Number Registry Number Checking Account Number
Our goal is always to be fair and reasonable, so we'll do all we can to find a record of your purchase. If we can't find it, we'll issue a Merchandise Credit for the item's current selling price less 20% to account for the possible use of a coupon.

Right!! I mean I get returning something you recently purchased that broke or became defective but returning something because you used it for multiple years and its now past its life span is ludicrous. Returning something that I used for so long would not even cross my mind. I'm glad that BBB updated their policy.

Totally. I’m convinced that their very relaxed (seemingly former?) return policy is why shit at BBB is almost always more expensive than other stores; placating someone with a five year old dingy-ass Keurig that they never cleaned gets trickled down to the consumers somehow.
I rarely shop there anymore. Something I found there for $119, I found at other stores for $79. Even using their precious coupon wouldn’t have matched the price I found elsewhere.
