If you have a car with a third row but have a large family...

Can't edit on phone... Meant to say Don't have a large family...

Do you drive with the third row of seats available or do you drive with a really large trunk?

I ask for a stupid reason. The cargo mat for the trunk can either be small for the space with the seats up or large for the space with the seats down.

We have a minivan with a 3rd row, and there's only 4 of us. Most of the time, we keep the back seats up and available. We occasionally put them down when carrying large items, but then we put the seats back up when we're done.

Right now I have the third row up because of the car seat configuration and my older son's booster seat. Before I NEEDED the third row, I had it down all the time.

We keep one seat up one seat down because one of the kids is back there. I don’t think we’d have a third row car if we didn’t have three kids. DH keeps asking when we won’t need a third row anymore (I wanted it due to needing three car seats/boosters).

We are a family of 3 - one child. But I often carpool with other people, so sometimes I need the third row.

Whether the third row is up or down depends. If I'm by myself and going shopping or something, it's down. And if we are driving just the 3 of us and have stuff to put in the back (luggage, or sports equipment/chairs), they are down.

But when I'm driving a group of kids or people, which is fairly often, they are up.

I'd say it's 50/50, but we have the smaller mat.

We have a minivan and 2 kids. It really depends sometimes I have the seat down and sometimes its up. I drive my nephew, kids friends, my parents and I have it up. When its just my kids they sit in the middle and the seat is down. I have weather tech mats and they on the floors and run from the second row into the 3rd and they stay the same whether its up or down in the cargo area I just have a small mat.

I have a SUV w a third row and 2 kids. I keep the third row down and have a big trunk, I only put it up when needed (family visiting etc). I have the large cargo mat in the back which folds smaller to allow 3rd row seats to go up. Even if the mat didn't fold I would still get the big one bc 99% of the time my third row is down and I use it as trunk space, then I would just take the mat out when using third row seats.

I have 2 kids and we have a 3rd row. I hardly put it up, but we have for when I drive DS's friends places or when we take trips to the city with my parents we all go together. Makes it easy. I also love having a big trunk too when the 3rd row is down. Good for the beach, taking bikes, buying big things, Costco, etc.

We have a minivan with a 3rd row and generally keep it down. We have 2 kids, 1 in a booster, 1 in a carseat. We always have the stroller in back. with the stroller, its just more convenient to have the seat down if you end up taking other stuff, groceries etc.

we use the 3rd row for when we take some family etc. however, we don't use it that often.

I always keep it up. I have 3 so I usually need it, but even before, we kept it up.

I have 2 kids and we keep the 3rd row down. My DH bought a cargo mat that fits with the seats down. Plus I have a double stroller so it's easier for me to get it in and out of the truck.

I have 1 child and a 3rd row car, but I got bucket seats. I keep the 3rd row up, unless I need the extra trunk room.
