Donating Toys
Anyone have advice on the best place to donate toys?
I have both used and new in the box toys to donate. Lots of baby stuff and some toddler toys. I just want them to go somewhere that kids who need them will get them.

Donating Toys
The new toys I’d donate to a children’s hospital
Gently used maybe a daycare? Or church nursery school program?

Donating Toys
Used stuff I bring to savers. New toys I save and bring to Toys for Tots before the holidays.

Re: Donating Toys
New toys: toys for tots or John Thiessen organization in Wantagh
Used toys: I’ll call BBBS or Lupus to do a pickup at my house if I have a lot, or donate to Salvation Army - my mom has a friend who is active at one in a high needs area. And At least I know BBBS/Lupus is getting money with whatever they do with the items even if I can’t control who ultimately buys the items.
I know this is probably passive aggressive of me but I don’t give to daycares because I feel like my tuition should cover toys and what I donate should go to true need.

No, I agree with you.
My job has a toy collection twice a year, the toys go directly to families in need. Last time I donated I got a beautiful thank you card from an expectant mother who took my jumperoo and baby gym and a video from a little boy who jumping up and down yelling "ball, ball" when he saw his "new" little tykes basketball hoop

I agree with you for a kiddie academy or a tutor time, but there are a ton of small daycares in low income areas that may not have the spare $$ for new toys often.

Donating Toys
If you are close Anna House at the Belmont race track will take toy donations. The families there really appreciate donations. Call them to find out the donations hours. I think you google Belmont child care association.
