Pediatric Opthalmologist recommendation?
I'm in Nassau, but would consider Suffolk. Thanks!

Dr Mansoor Movaghar with Stonybrook Pediatric Ophthalmology.
He was amazing with my DD. So nice, through, took his time with us and great with kids.
They have an office in Commack which is the one we went to

Re: Pediatric Opthalmologist recommendation?
I responded on your other post about vision therapy...if you think there are visual issues, many ophthalmologists won't recognize these through their exams...my daughters have all gone to LI Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus since they were infants and none of my daugther's issues were ever picked up on, as her vision is perfect, it is more of an issue between her eyes and her brain. I still very much like that practice and recommend them, but I just wanted you to have that bit of information.

Re: Pediatric Opthalmologist recommendation?
My DD had bad strabismus at birth. Patching and multiple surgeries. We had vision eval at a place on post ave in westbury. Very helpful in understanding what her eyes and brain were doing. Unfortunately she was not a candidate for vision therapy as her eyes work independently. Last eye surgery was from Dr in Manhattan he did wonders for her alignment.

Although her eyes are aligned now I would confirm she has peripheral vision and 2/3D. Most kids with this surgery have "straight" eyes, but still do not have full vision. They tend to have "tunnel" vision.
FYI- my LO eyes are aligned, but were not working in tandem. Vision therapy has helped tremendously.

This is where we take DS and I'm very happy with the practice. DS has seen Dr. Roberts and Dr. Levi. In fact, he's going in 2 days.
He has been patching for about 1.5 years and we've seen improvement for sure.

Re: Pediatric Opthalmologist recommendation?
No she doesn't have full vision. She has no depth perception, can't see 3D. She only uses one eye at a time. When the eye doctor put that machine u to her eyes and asked her to read the eye chart she was like which one. She was actually seeing 2 charts because the machine was making each eye work it was pretty cool. She is 23 now and has been this way her whole life so I assume her brain has figures a way to adapt.
She had a full vision eval ad they actually said therapy wouldn't help her.
