Uterine polyps- update
Talk me off a ledge... TMI but I’ve had my period for 3 weeks, worse then when I gave birth. I’ve called my GYN twice regarding this and went in today for an ultrasound and consult. Back in mid July I had a pap and blood work all normal. I had a 21 day blood work to show I wasn’t ovulating just to check (pcos- have had the diagnosis since I was young). So fastforward- 8/8 I get my period and it’s been awful since, I’ve never had this and knew something was wrong. Today my ultrasound showed I have polyps and I have to go for a water sono and then a biopsy on 9/20&9/24 respectively. Following that my gyn said I may need a D&C. They said there isn’t anything they can give me to stop this bleeding. This is a new GYN (he was the second GYN on my twin c-section) my original GYN no longer accepts NYSHIP so I moved to this practice. Should I get a second opinion? I’ve never had this before. My GYN said it’s unlikely cancerous but still, all this bleeding and now this has me freaking out. To add I had an abnormal PAP about 11-12 years ago and haven’t had one since. I regularly have my GYN exams and nothing has come up in years.
Update- I had a water sono yesterday, turns out my uterus is filled with them. I’ve bled for 30 days with extremely heavy bleeding. It’s finally slowing down. They are doing a biopsy Monday and then scheduling the D&C even without the results because they are all over. I am very nervous and upset by all this! I have PCOS and haven’t been ovulating ive been going for blood work for a while and my hormonesI’ve never had this issue and it’s very scary to think that they have grown so quickly like this! I just had an ultrasound 6 months ago and nothing was seen! Anyway, thanks for the feedback/ experiences! Hopefully I can get he D&C ASAP!

Uterine polyps
I had uterine polyps and fibroids in the past. I was bleeding for almost an entire cycle. I had a d & c to remove them and haven’t had issues since. This was in 2011.

Uterine polyps
As far an an abnormal pap if it was in your late teen 18, 19 etc or 20's that is normal. It happen because cells split fast and when looked at under a scope it can look abnormal vs an older women her cells die etc slower

Uterine polyps
Thanks everyone! I’ve had no issues other than PCOS, conceives my twins with fertility meds but my pap and periods following having my kids were fairly normal, I’ve actually had a period more after having my kids than previous, but this is the first time I’ve had this issue. The doctor told me yesterday it’s believed to be a polyp based on the ultrasound image but the water sono will confirm and then the biopsy. Trying not to freak Out! I have a high platelet count which can lead to increase in bleeding so I’m hoping this stops soon!

Re: Uterine polyps- update
An acquaintance of mine opted for a laproscopic hysterectomy due to chronic polyps. She feels sooo much better now. She was anemic from the constant bleeding.

Thanks! I’m going to have a D&C done. If I have further issues I’m going to opt for this. I’m 30 years old and still in my child bearing years and we had been going back and forth having a 3rd. I feel if this is what I will have to go through, then I know my answer is I was only meant to have 2 and when I questioned why me having twins, this is why.... I’m just very nervous about cancer. My doctor said the risk is very low given my age

Most likely it's benign. My friend was worried too but all was fine. And she was older than you. At your age it's most likely fine. Good luck!
