What do you use? I've been using All free and clear and I hate it. It doesn't get anything clean.

I do not care about natural, organic, etc. Whatever works. I want my stuff clean.

Laundry detergent

Persil or Tide original only. I have tried so many other brands, this is what always gets our clothes the cleanest.

Laundry detergent

persil and tide.
SO is a plumber and comes home with YUCKY clothes. i use tide for his shorts (dark clothes) and persil for his shirts (whites). persil really does help keep your whites white.

i coupon and resell a lot of items. the detergents that sell the best are persil and tide. every now and then, there's an oxi lover.

Re: Laundry detergent

Use whatever is on sale and put a scoop of oxyclean in with it. Then stop the machine once it agitates for a bit.
Soak for an hour or so.
Then run it as normal.
Makes a big difference

Re: Laundry detergent

If you need a free & clear one, Tide is very good. We used to use Tide Free & Clear HE. Lately we have been using 7th generation & I think it works well, but our clothes don't get that dirty unless we get food on them ( which is actually kind of frequent)

You need something with enzymes- enzyme based detergents can also be used to pre-treat.

I was using a free and clear formula for awhile, then switched to the Kirkland (Costco brand). Now I went back to Tide and I'll never look back. I don't have to pre treat all the stains, except ones that have been there awhile. Tide got strawberry stains off my son's white shirts!

I keep being tempted to buy Persil - but was there a thread on here recently where some people said it smells bad? Or maybe I’m confused and that was something else...

I use whatever is on sale and sometimes add in a little vinegar.

Wow! Thanks for posting this! We use all free and clear and my clothes always need to be rewarded especially the kids. Half of their stuff I’ve been tossing thinking I need a new washing machine but maybe it really is my detergent! I’m going to try Tide!

Re: Laundry detergent

oh, i just remembered.

if you have a teen and/or a sports player who has MAJOR funk... Tide Sport.

holy cow, it makes a DIFFERENCE.

my sweet and beautiful baby boy, who was born just five minutes ago and is perfect in every way... more so than Mary Poppins... since he became a marine has the ability to create a crazy funk like i never knew could exist. i mean CCCCRRRRAAAAAAAAZZZYYYYYY FUNK.

Tide Sport is the ONLY thing that kills it.

i have a super secret stash of Tide Sport that i give to DS whenever he comes home.

Tide Sport!!

We use arm and hammer free and clear. Only thing that doesn’t make my dh’s exema flare up. If I had my way though I’d go back to tide pods.

Re: Laundry detergent

I use liquid Tide or Tide Pods with Fabric softener.

They give Persil out for the Spartan races and I don’t like it. I don’t think it cleans that well and my clothes don’t smell good.

It's funny that you posted this, because I was literally just changing my clothes out from the washer and I use All Free and Clear, and my clothes still smell like camping. I'm never buying it again! I was using Purex Free and Clear and had no issues, but found All on sale
