Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
I have so many people I feel obligated to get for and not sure how much I should be spending/ getting them.
My son has : Main Teacher Assistant Teacher Personal Aid I think there are 2 or 3 other Aids in the room - Do I get these people something> Speech OT Bus Driver Bus Driver assistant (not sure what you call them)
my DD has: Main Teacher Teacher Helper
DD class is collecting money for both of them but $8 per kid goes to the teacher and $2 per kid goes to the Teacher Helper.
After care both my DD and DS go there is a total of 7 people
this list is out of control
so what would you give who would you give too!!!

Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
I stopped giving to everyone. It adds up so fast. I contribute to the class gift for the teachers and usually give something small such as a $15 gift card.
If I were to give to everyone for both of my kids it would be a lot.

well I don't think my DS class is collecting I am one of the class moms in his class the other one doesn't seem to want to do a class collection. Granted there is only 9 kids in his whole class.
I was thinking doing $10-$15 7-11 or maybe even target (though I feel like that's a cheap amount for target ) for everyone else besides the main teachers.
I would rather not give to anyone but I have this guilt for some stupid reason not giving

I would definitely give to the people who interact with your child on a daily basis. For the extras, I would give something very small, like a $5 or $10 Starbucks or dunkin gc.

I don't. DS started school when he was 2 years old. At that time, there were over 15 people that interacted with him at school on a daily basis. That does not include the people who see him at home. Even at just $10 a person, that adds up quick. I just can't do it. He's in 2nd grade now and while there are less people that he sees daily, It's still 1 Teacher, 1 TA, his 1:1, 2 other 1:1's in the class, ST, OT, PT, his ABA, the bus driver and matron. It's just too many people.

I give for the class gifts and that's it
As for aftercare, I usually sent in a cookie tray or donuts the last day before break.

Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
When my oldest son was in school, he had a lot of therapists and Aides, and I did gift everyone. A nice idea is to order Popcorn for the people bags. It's a company that employs adults with autism, and their popcorn is so good!!!
Oh good grief voice typing lol

If you do the target gift cards they are 10% on Sunday in target.
to OP that is a lot of people for your son I would only do the one's you know in direct contact with him
10 -15 is more than sufficient

Re: Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
I am in this position (broke! lol) every holiday and end of year! My son has special needs and is in a self contained class. He has 1 teacher, 5 aides, 4 therapists in school, 1 bus driver 1 matron, and 1 therapist at home. Then he goes to a respite program two sundays a month where there are 4 ladies that work there.
For the teacher and aides in the classroom I am attempting to collect for a group gift (in the past the class mom has collected, I am that mom this year). I gave $10 gc's to the therapists and bus driver/matron, with the exception of his speech therapist- she will get more because I feel she does more for him and the only therapist who communicates with me, and his home therapist will get more too because she has been great.
I also have my DD's preschool where she has 3 aides and 1 teacher. I plan to do $10 gc for the aides and maybe a $15 gc for her teacher.
It really adds up! But I feel like I have to give a little something to thank them for what they do.

Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
My daughter is in kindergarten this year. I didn’t even think of the bus driver and matron. This is so expensive. Don’t think I can do more that $10 per person. There is no class mom

$10 is completely fine, and you shouldn't feel bad about that. I have given $10 Panera or Dunkin Donuts/7/11 gift cards to my son's drivers in the past. All were appreciated!

Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
I buy whatever gift card is on sale and just give them. Usually it’s some place that’s within the county . If they don’t like it they can sell it on card cash or whatever Or regift them This way I feel like I am able to gift a little more than I would normally Just gift cards - to California pizza kitchen, Blue moon Mexican cafe , Applebee’s, cold stone etc , whatever I can afford
The problem is I like my bus driver, but do not like the matron If I only give the driver and not the matron I don’t want him to be targeted A lot of this is just annoying My one son is in special class - 1 teacher, 2 aids, speech, OT ( doesn’t communicate at all) , driver , matron ( terrible ) Two outside speech teachers who are awesome ( via insurance) My one son is in pre-K - teacher, aid , another teacher ( intergrated ) but not sure what is the role in class honestly.. speech and OT , bus driver and matron Just thinking about this is so stressful and expensive Also no other professions get this gifting except the schools

Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
I only give to the class gift. I don’t give to class aides, specials, bus, etc. I don’t feel any obligation to do so and my child has never been treated differently due to lack of gifting. If my child had a personal aide I would also probably give to them.

Re: Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
I usually hit up qvc and get an order of either Mrs. Prindables apples or moose munch. The carton of 10 is about $50 and I give each one to whomever. I can attach a $10 gift card if I want to give more.

Re: Holdiay gifts - what would you give or what do you give
Jus want to add that I work in a school and 1:1 aides are the most dedicated workers in our building and have a special relationship with yiur child. If you give to no one else, a small token to the 1:1 aide imo would be warranted.
In terms of classroom, just the personal aide and maybe teacher. I dint think for anyone else classroom-wise.
