First trip to Disney...tell me where to research please!
I'm starting my planning for our first trip to Disney for next October. DS will be 10 and DD will be turning 3 while we're there. I'm so overwhelmed with all the options and decisions to make. What are some good resources for planning purposes? Is there a website where I can calculate certain costs or compare options?
Some things that I'm specifically trying to figure out:
which hotel to stay at where to eat for each meal is the dining plan worth it (and which one?) which character experiences are best for my kids

If you are on FB you can join the group "walt disney world made easy for everyone" to ask any questions. There are actually disney dining calculators that you can google which will tell you if its worth it or not. I find it is worth it if you are planning to do lots of character meals. If not then you may come out ahead just paying out of pocket.
If you want to use a TA to help plan, most of them are free (they make commission off Disney). They will give you tips and most TA's will make your dining reservations for you. I used Rebecca at LBAC Travel ([email protected]) and she was great to work with.

disboards is a great website facebook - Disney junkies / Disney moms and dads / Disboards on facebook
And us! lol. I think a lot of the resort choice comes down to budget to be honest. I like the dining plan and feel like its worth it, especially for your first trip where you will probably do the more expensive meals/character meals

I like mousesavers and easywdw for the general summaries that can help you figure out that type of thing.
However, before you go reading anything it’s a good idea to have a budget in mind. The range of money you can spend is very wide so it’s helpful to just be able to know what’s an option and what isn’t.

I've been every year for the past 10 years and have stayed at many of the resorts. I'm happy to help. Feel free to pm me or post in this thread.
