Backup dinner foods for kids
Hey guys
I recently bought dr praeger spinach bites as a quick side for my kids and we always have chicken nuggets, Mac n cheese and ravioli ready to go but they don’t really like that anymore. What do you guys have for a quick dinner when all else fails ?
Any frozen meatballs? Sliders?

We do alot of pastina here because it's so quick to make... DD loves cold cuts too, so if all else fails we do cold cut roll ups with ham, turkey etc. we do alot of carrots with peanut butter to dip as well. As long as she eats, I don't really push it anymore- We've had too many fights lol

Fish stick and tater tots, TJ’s frozen farfalle with spinach, Annie’s Mac and cheese, pizza and, I kid you not- chicken, rice and chickpeas from the halal takeout place.

I usually have nuggets, fish sticks, mac n cheese, frozen pizza crust, hot dogs. My kids used to love earth's best mini meatballs but now they won't touch them. I always have the makings of cheese quesadillas, grilled cheese, pbj, scrambled eggs. For sides they mostly just like raw fruit and veggies so that's super easy.

Yes! I throw them in the convection oven with tater tots or sweet potato fries. Same pan, 20 mins at 400 degrees, done.

When DD used to eat them we'd get the Gorton's or whatever they had at Stop and Shop

I buy them too. Also TJ makes a “sausage” or “hot dog” I don’t know what it’s called but it’s apple sausage and smells amazing (I don’t eat meat so don’t really know) but my daughter loves! They make them in Italian sausage flavor and hot pepper but the apple one she loves!
My DD is a great eater but when I don’t have time or want to be lazy or mix it up I do baby tapas. Can be those above hot dogs with raw veggies. A hard boiled egg. Cheese. Crackers. And she LOVES the glass jar of peaches or pears. So that’s a treat too.
Also breakfast for dinner!!!

Re: Backup dinner foods for kids
Umm I’m the worse but here are my back up dinners:
Breakfast for dinner - yay!! (Aka mommy’s too lazy to cook so eat breakfast while I’ll take the win for being cool ) : frozen Waffles/pancakes/cinnamon French toast sticks, cereal, oatmeal
Bagels (butter, sandwich, pb&j), regular cold cut sandwich. He will have yogurt, applesauce, or pudding snack if he’s still hungry.
^^ the above, is me being extra lazy because he makes it himself. Lmfao.
Mac & cheese, hot dogs, chicken patty sandwiches, chicken nuggets, Tuna melts, frozen pizza, smoothies (lol, told you I’m horrible), tomato soup w/ grilled cheese, grilled cheese, veggie burgers
And when Idgaf about my diet: Burger King, Wendy’s or McDs.
This was a good one when he was a toddler: veggies with dip: carrots, cucumber, tomato etc.

Mac & cheese with peas & carrots mixed in breakfast for dinner- scrambled eggs, french toast, waffles, or pancakes, with sides of fruit & hash browns, sometimes bacon I will make big pots of soup (chicken noodle, lentil, pasta e fagioli, italian wedding) and always keep in the freezer to defrost chicken nuggets with french fries or sweet potato fries & a veggie ravioli with salad- I try to always make homemade sauce, but for a quick dinner, we love Rao's sauce.

Re: Backup dinner foods for kids
My favorite easy kid dinner is Campbell’s chunky chicken noodle soup. One can for each kid in a pot for 5 minutes. Has protein and veggies.

Carrot and celery sticks with pb were definitely a thing when I was a kid.
I might try to give these to DD later.
