Karate or Taekwondo??
Which is better for kids? My son is 6. I want him to do it for the discipline aspect and also to get his extra energy out. He’s not in any other sports.

Re: Karate or Taekwondo??
I honestly don't know the difference with the 2 lol. My 6 year old DS takes mixed martial arts and LOVES it!! It teaches him self defense and discipline (the testing they do to get to the next belt is pretty intense!). I would do a couple of trial classes if I were you, and see what is the better fit.

Karate or Taekwondo??
I'm sure there are people who disagree with me, but I don't see a huge difference (at least at that age). My son does Kenpo Karate. We didn't choose it for the particular type of martial arts, but rather for the reputation of the place. We have 3-4 place near us that do various forms of martial arts, but the kenpo place had been around a long time and had a great reputation. If my son eventually decides he wants to try a different type of martial arts, the I'd be totally open to it, but the place we're at now seems great and for the younger kids it's mostly about learning discipline and listening to their instructors.

Karate or Taekwondo??
I'm torn between ninja warrior and martial arts. My son is 8 and I feel like something like this would be so beneficial for him, but I also want a school that would be patient with him (he has ADHD).

We haven't done ninja warrior, but what I really like about martial arts is that it focuses a lot on control and discipline, which I think is good for a child with ADHD.
My son is not diagnosed because he's still pretty young, but he has a lot of a signs that he might have it, in particular a lot of impulse control problems. Our karate school is VERY patient with him (like to the point where I almost want them to be a little harder on him), but they do really work on listening, discipline, controlling your body and mind, etc., and I've seen a huge difference since he started. I'm not sure ninja warrior classes have the same focus on control.
