Frozen 2
Did anyone see this yet? We went this past weekend and LOVED it. I think I liked it better than the 1st one. Even DH who is notorious for falling asleep during movies, stayed up and really enjoyed it.

Re: Frozen 2
It was really good!!! It was a bit intense for DD but she's only 3. It dealt with a lot of heavy subjects. And I've had Into the Unknown in my head since I saw it.

We saw it. DD was mesmerized from the second it started until the end. DS even said it was his new favorite movie! I still like the first one better, but loved it.

I am praying to all the gods of good and evil that my daughter doesn't ask to see this while it's still in the theaters. The first one tortured me and haunted my dreams for a very long time when she was younger. I just can't imagine having to sit through this in a theater.

I thought it was really good too. None of the songs have stuck with me, but I thought the storyline was good. I think it was a little more complicated than the first one, which I liked.

Frozen 2
I am totally in the minority but I did not like it at all. My daughters weren't too excited about it either. I thought it was very dark and depressing. I really didn't like that they made Anna think Elsa died.

I liked it as much as I like any other kid’s movie. Honestly, they’re all the same to me.

We went out to dinner with DD’s bff and her parents recently and the mom has what I would consider an irrational hate for frozen and went off on a 10 minute rant about its stupidity. It was amazing and should be posted on you tube for the enjoyment of all parents everywhere.

That's true. I still like the movie, but I did question, why does this need to be all about death? Why did we have to sit there and literally watch Olaf die, when the adults knew full well he and Elsa would be back by the end of the movie. It's like torture for the kids. There were a lot of dark and morbid parts to the movie - like when Elsa found out her parents died seeking answers about Elsa herself. Devastating. I think most of it goes over the little ones heads.
But graphically, the movie just looked so incredible. The details in the outfits. The songs, while yes less memorable after walking away from the movie, in the movie fit and are entertaining.
Lots of things to love (and dislike) about frozen I guess!

It's very Disney though- I mean every Disney movie has horribly depressing parts. Snow White- poisoned, Cinderella- father died, treated like a slave by her step-mother and step-sisters, Up- infertility, death, loneliness, Moana- grandmother dies, Coco- literally everyone is dead , Finding Nemo- mother dies, Bambi- mother dies. The list goes on and on!
But I do agree, that's what I meant when I said it was intense. But like Olaf said in the movie, the kids who saw the original Frozen in the theaters are a little bit older and have probably had to deal with loss in their lives, sadly. It kind of reminds me of the Harry Potter series- how it grew with the reader/viewer.

I didn't like it at all. It was like they were trying to hard to make it another hit headed for Broadway. The songs - none of them were catchy or memorable, IMO. Anna seemed so needy for a relationship with Elsa, she was more interested in her sister than her boyfriend. Kristoff was like a puppy following the sisters around, with no real story line.
I didn't like the plot- I just didn't like it. I took my nieces b/c they wanted to see it and my 9 year old said after it was over- so the sisters are separated again? Elsa doesn't seem to want to be sisters as bad as Anna does.

i thought it was really good. agreed the songs were not memorable and i could have done without Kristoff's song Lost in the Woods. It sounded like a wanna be 80s rock song. my almost 5 year old was scared at the end and had to sit on my lap, but my 10 year old really liked it and he said he understood what was going on. my husband even cried at the proposal lol

That was exactly the point... it was paying homage to 80's power ballads, in a comedic attempt to mimic that. And then in Weezer's music video version, they mimic the film.

I thought it was okay. I do agree that they were trying to hard. It didn’t seem like a natural progression to me. I also felt like some parts were borrowed...the wave scene seemed like a more intense Moana. The song she was following was definitely stolen from the non-Disney movie Home. But the kids liked it.

This exactly.
If not for Olaf I would actually say I hated it.
They just went off on one too many tangents for me to even want to follow along.
